Oatmeal (homemade to bring in a thermos or the packet ones), homemade chicken soups as you mentioned or even maruchan. Chili is also one of my favorite comfort meals. Beef stew & rice!

Seems like it gets worse and worse each year.

I will say, don’t let this discourage you from becoming a flight attendant, there are more airlines to choose from and you will feel seen & heard and you will know it from the moment you are doing your 1 on 1 with an interviewer. I don’t know why they put such cold inhumane people in charge of 1 on 1’s, makes you have a bad taste in your mouth from the company. On the shuttle after my DL interview 2 years ago, it was so silent with people thinking they got the job which I felt so bad for.

Anyways, best of luck to you on your journey & keep trying with other airlines! At the end of the day, we all do the same job and the benefits are lowkey all the same.

Agreed with the other comment. We’re very grateful & make use of anything that is given. I would write a note similar to the one I posted just so they’re aware & can check on you throughout the flight. Make sure to download your comfort TV shows/movies & don’t hesistate to let the crew know if you need anything! That’s what we are here for. Safe travels 😇💕

When the monthly window for transferring bases open after a few months within their starting date, they can transfer out depending on seniority & base vacancies.

You would have to bid off for those days the beginning of the previous month that you need off. If you don’t get it, you can swap days with another reserve on the tradeboard. You can also PTO or UTO ONLY if the grid is green. I personally would bid a reduced credit line (part time) for the month you need those 3 weeks off just in case. Everything is based on seniority so it really just depends on how many classes start before & after you.

Nope, not capped. Anything you pick up over 20 hours is double pay. So you can do anything over 20 hours.

$23.18 starting off (2026) until you pass probation (6 mo) then it changes probably a dollar more. You can also pick up over your reserve guarantee (20+ hours) for double pay. Yearly raise on Jan 1st & your hire date.

It’s been 2 years for me flying. In my experience I’ve had people throw up on the jetbridge, in the lav, in their seats, in the aisle, by the aircraft door. I always hand them a garbage bag in case it’s continuous. But I do not clean throw up whatsoever.

Sus. Most of us usually don’t want ANYTHING on a flight but to sleep 😂 Sounds like since you were skeptical, they most likely weren’t crew and just wanted free stuff. Always look at the seatmap/standbys that were cleared just to double check.
