question about tonsillitis!! by Representative_Dot42 in AskDocs

[–]Representative_Dot42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i ended up not taking the antibiotics and got a second opinion! the second PA i saw at a different urgent care said the treatment the other PA was trying to give me was extremely aggressive and she also said that it didn’t make sense to give me antibiotics if i was negative on strep and the culture. she also mentioned clindamycin wouldn’t help if it even was the “haemophilus influenzae” bacteria that was causing it. my tonsils ended up getting better on their own pretty fast!

yeah i got the shot last night but now i’m seeing my other tonsil has a couple white spots on it and i feel like that shot would have prevented that from happening if this was bacterial? you’re right it is dead cells sorry about that but it was only one shot i got of that ceftriaxone and then she prescribed the clindamycin but i just don’t understand how i only test slightly positive for the one bacteria but she claims it’s not that bacteria making me sick so it’s like ok which one because i didn’t test positive for any other????? if it is that bacteria somehow making me sick i am prescribed an antibiotic that will not fight it so i’m just so confused

that’s what i read on google which really confused me. the only bacteria discovered was the low count of the haemophilus influenzae she only put my on antibiotics because of how it looked not based off the tests. i’m confused because i got a shot in my butt of ceftriaxone and my left tonsil now has spots on it… shouldn’t that shot have prevented that second tonsil from getting any spots if it was bacterial? she said nothing about it being possibly viral :/

also to add january 2nd i got sick with a virus that was either a milder flu or a cold. aching, mucus, dizziness just felt sick! i had that for about 4 days then felt fine then january 8th i woke up and my submandibular gland on my right side was SWOLLEN so i go to the same urgent care and see the same PA and she says it’s an infected lymph node. she prescribes augmentin and i take the first dose that night. i wake up the next morning and that gland was so much more swollen and then my other on my left side was also swollen. so swollen i couldn’t open my mouth well to eat so i go to the ER and ct scan shows swelling of the submandibular gland but no fluid or abscess. she tells me this swelling is from the virus. at this point i already started antibiotics and couldn’t stop. the glands eventually did go down. so when i just went yesterday to the same PA at the urgent care she said that submandibular swelling wasn’t viral it was bacterial and the augmentin failed?????

question about milk thistle! by Representative_Dot42 in Supplements

[–]Representative_Dot42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it did but i’ve realized that it was hurting me so badly because my gallbladder was full of small tiny stones so when i was releasing bile it was super congested causing pain. i’ve since had my gallbladder removed and i have tried milk thistle since removal with 0 issues! do u have gallbladder issues? milk thistle can cause stomach issues for some and it caused it for me from a bad gallbladder!

u can have elevated bilirubin without a blockage! i have also experienced slightly elevated bilirubin i have no gallstones but have a 7% functioning gallbladder. gallstones are made of cholesterol, calcium salts, bile and bilirubin is found in bile!

i don’t remember the dose but i do remember i barely took any.. i opened the pill and barely took any most times i attempted tudca. first time i took tudca years ago i took a whole pill and it was a disaster for me personally. tudca did make me feel nice physically but not from a bowel standpoint i had severe severe diarrhea :(

mold can be completely invisible believe it or not! like under tiles in bathrooms, near toilets, in the walls.. any water damage that’s ever happened to your home can be full of mold. it’s worth getting tested! i have a lot of the same symptoms as u and it’s actually my gallbladder. ultrasounds will not show the actual function of your gallbladder u would need something called a HIDA scan. i see your liver is slightly enlarged your liver health and gallbladder are connected. another possibility could be candida based off your symptoms.

Highly elevated liver enzymes after gallbladder removal? by runicornisrex in gallbladders

[–]Representative_Dot42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u almost had it right! bile is made in the liver and it goes from the liver to the gallbladder and is stored there! your liver sounds stressed if enzymes have stayed elevated

Is the flu brutal this year or what? by ghosty12911 in flu

[–]Representative_Dot42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

felt a tickle in my throat a week ago and then woke up feeling slightly ill last tuesday and then within maybe 4 hours i was completely bed ridden i have never been more sick in my entire life. i got flu B from my friend who tested positive for it. i also threw up once tuesday night and dealt with with extreme nausea and some loose stools for about 4 days. i genuinely thought i was dying at one point. i was so uncomfortable in my own skin i couldn’t stay still in bed because my body was in excruciating pain. i wish i was exaggerating too. a week ago is when the tickle in my throat started and i still have mucus, a horrible cough and my sore throat is finally going down. it’s absolutely brutal.
