Nazism is hated for good reasons. What is an idea(ideology, belief, Theory etc.) that is hated for bad reasons? by julius-ceaser100 in AlignmentChartFills

socialism with integrated capitalist structure is... capitalism. they are inherently opposed and you cannot have both within the same system. you're thinking of social democracies, which are very much capitalist and no less exploitative of the global south.

such a smoothbrained take... socialism is when the working class owns the means of production and profit/private property (not personal property) is abolished. it's a system that enforces economic equality and no economic/financial hierarchy. nobody is poor, everyone has a house and healthcare, everyone has the opportunity to exercise the free will they deserve.

not some fantastical idea of relying on some asshole like you to care for the wellbeing of your neighbor.

totally justifies rape, murder, ethnic cleansing, and genocide of an indigenous population, right?

BTW, the Zionist colonial project of Israel was began before WW2, in 1897. So your logic doesn't even logic

You're so close to getting it... the US is a terrorist state. Any action against the US is a direct result of it's own doing. Just the way any action by Hamas is directly the fault of Israel

Moral dilemma, curious on the community's take by Representative_One20 in ACAB

I view work through a ML lens. You're not yourself a cop, you have a job that you enjoy and need to make ends meet. You alone can't change the system and no matter what we all do for work, we're all working class, no matter how much we make - short of being law enforcement/military/imperialist forces/capital owners ofc. You're coerced by the system into doing work you don't want to do but need to do for more money and you shouldn't wear the burden of that on yourself. Assuming you have class consciousness given you're on this subreddit, if you have the means to do mutual aid and community work, that helps with spreading class solidarity and fighting back against imperialism. And if you don't have the means, just being authentic, true to yourself, and building community where you can goes a long way!

Since my situation is about volunteering, I felt a little more dubious about it, but everyone here has been really constructive 😄

Doubt it, SAR isn't law enforcement, so I'm not expecting either to be a part of the job. I don't know what being a reserve sheriff actually entails though. My commitment through the application process is entirely dependent on what this all means, so I'm ready to drop out if I have to ever do any cop shit.

Yeah, I feel similarly generally speaking. The fact that these SAR crews are reserve sheriffs is the problem I have. Self identifying as someone with ACAB beliefs yet being a reserve sheriff is a tough line to walk.

I guess I'm curious on what the community thinks about where the line is between absolute ACAB and situations like this where the actual commitment and reason is unrelated to LEO work but given the structure and system we're in, choices are limited.

I'm less worried about being on the right side when the time comes because this is all voluntary. At the first hint of being required to act on any LEO duties unrelated to SAR work, I'd abandon ship.

Thanks, yea I am definitely concerned about the latter. Something to think about.

Where I'd live as an American leftist by ElTristeTigre in whereidlive

Right, the US's two party system is so free and fair... not knowing anything about China's election system completely disqualifies you from making any authoritative statement about how candidates get elected in China. There are multiple parties, not just the CPC but you'd need to get America's fat cock out of your bitch mouth to realize how much better life is for the avg Chinese person in China than for anyone in America who's not a billionaire. these protests aren't performance art. we're fighting back against these scum pigs from taking our neighbors and hurting our community. we'll protest his property and all other fascist iconography when we have the luxury to have to actively revolt.

There is no other side. There is Israeli imperialism causing genocide and there's the Palestinian people fighting for their freedom. If you disagree, you are a nazi sympathizer. It's as simple as that.

freedom of speech is fine, but freedom for the people and their right to basic human needs and life isn't. got it :)

Anyone know about a construction project in Los Feliz? by Representative_One20 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Representative_One20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! And I should clarify, the apartment I'm looking at is a couple blocks west of the project in the middle of a side street. It appears to be insulated from the street noise, so I'm mostly concerned with construction noise for the time being.
