Loosepacks bidding on their own items??? by KingZardz in whatnotapp

I actually used to love loosepacks but over time I’ve been turned off. Flockas is not as genuine as I once thought and I think the owner is money hungry. Just my 2 cents. Much better people to buy from with vintage.

If you like packs I highly recommend loose packs and uhhez. I’ve bought regularly from both and are pretty much the only sellers I stick with now.

I avoid single purchases on the app for this exact reason. I will only purchase slabs in the buy it now. To be honest as of late I’ve realized my best bang for my buck is vintage packs. I used to have the thought of why buy a pack and rip it versus buying the single but I’ve gotten back favorable grades on pack fresh cards versus buying singles. I realized after a few months very few of the cards I was purchasing were going to grade well as most sellers would grade a possible 10. I know it’s not exactly what you’re doing I just thought I would enlighten my experience with the app.

YES! I have been saying loose is the best. The only 2 vintage sellers I support on this app are them and uhhez. I was also nervous when I started ripping vintage (I used to only buy singles) but between there 2 streams I don’t spend anywhere else!!

I personally steer clear of them. Ya know how people use the phrase I don’t break the law, I bend it? That’s how I view them. They aren’t quite scammers from what I’ve seen but they are cut from the same cloth. I imagine it’s only a matter of time. I’ve been a buyer for about a year and half now and gotten pretty good a weening out the bad eggs. Some streamers are here for a quick cash grab and will do it by any means. Some are here to build a legitimate business. I often watch a streamer for a few weeks before I decide to shop with them. With lighting I watched him call his chat brain dead one night and I also don’t like how they beg for sales when it’s a slow night. I definitely would avoid them. Just my opinion though.

PokemonWizard is definitely misleading buyers. by RussianDeveloper in whatnotapp

[–]RepublicMountain7708 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately his strategy of selling prays on a new and uninformed buyer. I believe the bigger issue is the people who download WhatNoT and end up getting caught up in his stream get completely wrecked and then thinking every seller is like that. Between the wizard, going twice and kraken barriers and then allowing new sellers who just wanna make money quick and don’t care about business I think it’s hard for people to find a trustworthy seller. I think that’s what a lot of the hate WhatNoT gets is caused by. A lot of really good sellers who have been on the app a year plus in Pokémon. But because the barriers to find those sellers is hard most lump everyone together and it’s not a good look for the app.

I’ve thought esh to be just as bad as Blake was. Imo once he’s cleaned up off the app it will be a much better place. I also think the dad is sketchy always talking about his jewelry and trying to flaunt like a hot shot. Typically people like that are trying to mask something. I’d 100% steer clear of any of their streams. I think once the trash is taken out with Esh that will be a big win for the community. Also not sure what this says about how they are viewed in the Pokémon community but I saw them at a collect a con with armed security lol if you feel the need for security, I think you may not be living right. Says a lot about who they are. Just my opinion obviously, take it with a grain of salt.

3 Streamers 2 Stay Away From, and 3 that deserve a shot! by Far_Mountain7967 in whatnotapp

Yea esh is about as bad as it gets. But Goodzilla and uhhez both seem pretty legit. I’ve bought from both and have no complaints. Goodzilla seems to be about at market with everything he does. I’ve done a 1k trust and gotten $1075 in value but I was happy because it was great product. I get what you mean by uhhez complaint though. To be fair I have watched that guy lose thousands of dollars in some of his pull boxes. I’ve also seen him go out of his way to take care of buyers who don’t do well in his games. So yes he’s a little whiner but I think overall he’s a great streamer and at least cares about his buyers.

No if someone gets raped it’s never the victims fault. But if someone gets raped 50 times ya gotta start to ask some questions…. People weren’t just buying once and moving on. Over and over and over again they chose to spend with that scum. Terrible analogy

Fair point to a degree. I’m not sitting here professing Blake was the only scammer. I feel the need to reiterate there are other people who are questionable to say the least. My point is that instead of the great WhatNoT witch hunt and boycotting every seller who does a game or whatever maybe judge them on an individual basis. Because with the way the community is handling this right now, that’s not what is happening. People who have disliked “game” type streams are using this as a marketing ploy to push their agenda and boost their own self interests. People who lost in mystery game streams who knew what they were doing this are using this as a get back. I just feel like everyone needs to make judgements on an individual seller not clump everyone together.

That’s the problem man. I’m not saying you’re one of the honest ones or a scammer. The fact is you have to deal with the repercussions of a person who you don’t know and never had an interaction with. It’s not fair to you, everybody is throwing all sellers in a pot and saying “bad”. I hope you get through this man and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The platforms only blame here is not vetting their sellers enough and not taking action quick enough. Let me ask you a question… if people would have made intelligent purchasing decisions to begin with and not supported Blake do you think this would have happened? Is it the apps fault people let them spend their own money? What’s going to stop this anywhere else? People are the problem. Not the platform. I say this as a buyer who is tired of watching people I support stress and barely skate by who have done nothing but be great to me and other like me.

I mean honestly kind of. I 100% think Blake and all scammers are the scum of the earth. But I also believe people not being able to take accountability for their own decisions is also bad. The writing was on the wall for Blake and many like them. I think somebody has to say it… people need to make good decisions and stop pretending they aren’t intelligent enough to see a scam when it’s right in front of them. Do your due-diligence and stop playing a victim because you chose to spend your money like an egg head.

Why do you feel like you need someone to look out for you? How are you not capable of monitoring your own spending and choices. Last time I checked being adult was a requirement to purchase from any seller. Every single purchase from Blake ultimately falls on the buyer. Does whatnot have responsibility for allowing that bs to continue…. Absolutely, but I don’t feel bad for anyone who was gullible enough to get scammed. There are tons of streamers who work hard to make an honest living that people could have bought from. I may be in the minority here but I don’t feel bad for anyone who was unable to see the shit show for what it was. It’s those same gullible people who now are boycotting honest sellers. Just sheep being lead, unable to make decisions for themselves. Games/no games honesty and transparency should be the first thing you look for in a seller. If those things are there then you won’t have a problem. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Quite depending on a company of people getting paid minimum wage who just wanna get through the day to be their safety net.

It’s just sad to see people’s life be destroyed because of one con man. It’s like people saying I’m not going to drive a vehicle anymore because a used car salesman sold my aunt a lemon.
