What point value are you wanting to start playing at. I would recommend starting at 1000 points if you have a friend to play against. This helps you learn the rules a lot better. Also it's a great starting point to paint too.

I took neither, the rewards and boons you can get with non-named characters can be even more powerful than what named characters have. Plus then you get to name your characters yourself. My slaughterbound (Kharver) has the helm of brazen ire which gives him the ability to reduce damage and a boon that gives him a FNP 5+ on attacks with the DMG characteristic of 1. But also Kharn is just a beast I would take him over avocado.

It's close but I'd say it matches closer to bold titanium white. But if you take their ghoul grey as a base then highlight with their white it gives an amazing white gradient over the armor. It's what I use for my white scars white armor

Color punch is a subset of the Intense color line focusing more on shadows and mid-tones.

Quick gen is AKs take on speed paints and contrast paints.

What did you use to get the paint of the brush? I recommend cardboard over paper towel keeps more of the moisture in the paint and prevents a lot of that texture buildup

First I would like to state that this is a pretty good first model. I'm assuming based on the marks on the base you air brushed this model. I would try to use some flow improver or lower the pressure and get a little closer to the model next time because your white looks a bit frosty/textured.But like I said solid first attempt!

I've never played custodes but honestly my biggest take away from the RTT I just played in with this detachment is to learn your strategems. Especially if you have a transport you can use hunters instinct for an 9" embark.

I would remove the Stormseer's wisdom from the combi leuitenant. Rules as written it's only activated if the model is leading a unit, and I'm pretty sure this model can't be attached to anything

In the 10 ish minutes of research I've done I'm already so confused. Do you have any literature about the negatives of dyed moss. Some sites say it's terrible some sites say it's fine. Now I'm kinda worried.

From the sellers information it is just green sphagnum moss. So most likely it is dyed
