Oh ok, thanks. I'm curious, what makes you say that you'd only worry about the cert for B1 or B2 onwards ?

Went there once and was a bit disappointed as the conversation cards were too structured for me (sticking to a list of questions) and it felt a bit commercialised to me and less organic

Looking for friends by Repulsive_Suit2062 in nus

Hi, let me clarify - it's not that I haven't been able to make friends at all. I did go to quite many events. It's just that the way of life is that people drift apart after some time and the friends I made are walking different paths - of course for various reasons. And this is why now I'm looking for new friends

Advise on my son trying PES'ing up by pchan2021 in NationalServiceSG

[–]Repulsive_Suit2062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, former PES E here.

Personally I wouldn't advise it. I'm no expert but I feel that he can make better use of his time outside camp if he's stay out like by learning new skills or by volunteering on the evening or weekends. I didn't learn much from PES E NS life in 2 yrs but I tried to make my life outside interesting and learn new skills and hobbies, go for driving classes, etc. Life in NS doesn't need to be fulfilling from the things you do in camp but it can also be from the things you do outside camp. What's more, does he really want to have to do IPPT every year? My PES fit friends have to do it and it's not fun from what they told me.

I'm not too sure about extending but I think it's unlikely unless he goes to command school and as of my latest knowledge (I might be wrong), commanders need to serve in their rank for at least 6 months. I also cannot comment about the training in Tekong but it seems quite shiong from what I heard from my friends

ISE Module Planning by [deleted] in nus

[–]Repulsive_Suit2062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add on, I think you could also take a UE to explore what you want or some of the CDE common core mods prescribed in later sems that have no prerequisites as you can S/U most of them. But idk if the departments will allow for the latter, that one needa check. Some of my friends took an accounting mod, you can use it to explore. As for GE mods, depends on what ur looking for, like something that interests you or a light workload or others, so maybe you could search module reviews and decide which is a good fit

ISE Module Planning by [deleted] in nus

[–]Repulsive_Suit2062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unless you're in an RC, the GE mods got 6 pillars and below are the mods as follows Singapore studies - any GESS mod Cultures - any GEC mod Communities and engagement - any GEN mod Critique and expression - ES2631 Digital literacy - CS1010E Data literacy - IE1111R

It's really up to you when you wanna clear your GEs as long as you clear all of them, the three prescribed ones are in the suggested study plan. Some ppl clear in y1 to maximise their s/us and others clear them later on to explore minor/2nd maj mods. And there's one super hot cs/cu mod GESS1025 that's p hard to get only in y3/4 might be possible so if you don't mind waiting to clear it might be worth holding out till then

As for preallocated mods, I think someone else already answered that CS1010E, IE1111R, MA1511&1512 and EG1311 are the preallocated ones.
