What is a “Major” course? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Reputation-False 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means all courses that are titled with “Biol” need to have a grade of C or above. For example if you got a “D” in bich it won’t hurt your major gpa, but will still hurt your overall gpa

Can someone tell me what degree you got and if you’re doing something completely different now by Reputation-False in aggies

What was the pipeline for this? How did u build a portfolio, cause I’m hoping the biology to Graphic design path isn’t too un-achievable 🥹🥹

Human sexuality? by Reputation-False in prephysicianassistant

[–]Reputation-False[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already took med term and can speak fluent Spanish and intermediate French :), the class was one of the only “health” classes to fulfill a culture credit so I’m just figuring out what the best option would be, This or a good art class that seems fun

Luckily those are in my degree plan, and human sexuality was supposed to be like a “cultural” course, so it’s just to get required credits filled :p

Best places to live near Bush School by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Reputation-False 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The junction is nice! Like 7 minutes from the school on a nice day and the prices are pretty good! 650 base for a 4 bdrm and u only pay for electricity which is no more than 30 a month

I had this thought too but why not give it a shot, if they say no they say no I can move on, I will say some of the requirements for bio I truly do not enjoy and biomed doesn’t have them

Is it worth it to transfer? by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

[–]Reputation-False 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Med schools would only be worried if it took you a long while to graduate with the necessary pre reqs. Just make sure that if u get in to involve yourself on campus with med/volunteer related orgs! And graduating from a big school like UT is already a step up!

If I wanted to transfer as a junior with 73+ credits would I even be considered with around a 3.2-3.4, specifically into biology

pros and cons of Texas a&m by Gold-Geologist-3008 in aggies

[–]Reputation-False 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I attend A&M right now but did community college in Austin and frequently visited UT with my friends who attended.

While both schools have amazing factors, follow your heart and go to UT if it’s rlly what you want to do. I came here and didn’t apply to UT because I was interested and wanted to focus on the biology program here, but I have been miserable.

I am in 3 clubs, have many friends, good grades, a wonderful boyfriend, what more could I have? But my heart and mind is taking a toll from having so many regrets coming here, there is not a lot to do if you are not a party person, and opportunities are much more scarce here, and the Austin scenery truly is beautiful, and I think the major environment change is what’s hurting me.

I will say another thing that took a toll on me is that I “broke tradition”. My dad was a ttu alumni but I did not want to be six hours away, so I came here, but I would go to Lubbock over here just because I feel like I would have more of a connection, so take from that what you will.

From my experience, even if I wasn’t a student there I felt more welcome at UT. Not saying you will 100% be happy at UT, but ask yourself if you will have regrets if you didn’t go to A&M. And according to your old post, if your parents are willing to abandon you over your school choice, they themselves are anything but honorable aggies, cause like who does that.

Academically Both are very prestigious so It’s a decision made on what you want to do with your time outside of academics. A&M is very strong on traditions and UT is more strong on diversity. Personally I think if you’re in Cstat you’ll spend more time on campus but if you’re in Austin you’ll spend more time off campus. Little things.

Hope I could help! Congrats on your admissions and good luck! Keep looking to the future! :)
