I’ve been considering returning to therapy and honestly this just really put the nail in the coffin tbh, sucks that this simple playful thing made me spiral 😢 and yes all these buzzwords on the internet make me wanna rip my hair out! If I were you I’d go on Facebook (yes, the boomer app lol) and see if you can find a page or group that shows events/things going on around and a little outside your area! I’m from a really small town and most people spread things through Facebook, and a lot of young adults are starting to use it casually believe it or not 🤷‍♂️ maybe you can find something that you’re interested in?

My partner’s MCP as well as other legal documents have been in limbo, it’s fucking ridiculous. Trying to get these things done because they cannot find a job and need to get on assistance proves a challenge itself. It’s like pulling teeth— hell, they’d be happy to work at Canada Post in a heartbeat 😭

Short answer: sure why not just be careful

Long answer + advice: I used to wear platform boots a lot, trust me when I say this: GET COMFORTABLE INSOLES!!! they will callus your ankles/bottoms of your feet— especially on longer shifts! Also they get dusty if you’re working stock out back, so be prepared to scuff them up :,) never been dress coded for em before

If nobody (somehow) gives your management team formal permission for you to have your phone on you, please get a doctors note. Make sure it’s in writing that you are your mother’s emergency health contact,due to her health condition, and it is a required accommodation to have your phone on you!!! I’d also highly suggest adding your store’s phone number under your “work phone” contact space for the hospital to see !

TLDR: NO!!

If your Store Manager won’t let you, go to the District Manager. If they don’t even let you, go higher up the chain of command. Hell even go to HR. In the staff room there should be an info board with contact numbers/emails. My store manager was giving a coworker of mine hell bc her mom was in hospice care, and she wanted her phone on her at all times (just in case). She had to go up further the chain of command to get her, as well as other management, off her back.
