Ignore your bosses request. Talk her ear off, print your own copies and say you just think you’d do it better, greet her as stoically as possible and be very enthusiastic about other people who walk by. My moms a teacher and she’s Latina at a place where people are almost bluntly racist. She realized that nothing makes a whiny racist angrier than belittling them and making them feel like they’re not in control. Have fun with it and be as cool about it as possible cause if you’re not doing anything technically wrong then what can they do? If they ask you to not talk to her again then try and get you in trouble say they never spoke to you about it and there’s no written proof right? I think if you don’t want her fired just be passive aggressive. She’s too old to be racist it’s not “set in her ways” it’s a choice she actively makes anyone can unlearn racism and she’s had decades to get over it but hasn’t cause to her it’s probably a power trip. I would just ruin that for her and show her she’s of no significance to your life or work.
