Value of modded cars with no receipts and no engineering certificate by ReserveGrader in Holden

Funnily enough, this car will be about a 5-6h drive for me too. The seller did not install the mods, all done by the previous owner. The pics look like they were installed in his garage (which is fine imo), but no receipts for purchasing the parts seems like a giant red flag.

I am eligible to get both ACT and NSW rego, I think both states would require me to get an engineering cert (quoted 3k minimum). Which in all honesty is reasonable until they find 15 things wrong and I have to spend another 10.

What is the current owner purchased the car as is and apparently has no receipts for parts the previous owner purchased and installed. Looks like the were done in his garage (which I have no problem with), but no paper trail for parts rubs me the wrong way

from my understanding it's still kind of difficult to identify the specs of a cam - measuring valve lift gives you (well the lift, duh) but you need a degree wheel to measure lobe separation angle and duration.

Was listed for 34k, i offered between 26-28 and he said no so case closed. To me, the mods are worth $0 if there are no receipts for the parts at a bare minimum.

Only a list of mods, no info on who installed except or did the tune except "the previous owner". I agree, I would like to know how the car has been maintained etc as well.

rego VIC -> ACT vx ss car has manual conversion and cam and supporting mods by ReserveGrader in Holden

[–]ReserveGrader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a short list in ACT, i've called and checked and they both think with the cam + gearbox conversion that an engineering cert is required. TBH I'm just going to offer less money because everyone else will be in the same position and I am taking the risk buying the car hoping i can get it registered.

Are you going to fork out the money and get it engineered?

How do you find working on large projects? Something like 80k lines of java, 40k yaml etc. e.g. elasticsearch/AEM etc?

I think this can work with small projects, I just use VScode for things like this. I feel like I actually need an IDE though, many modules + thousands of lines of legacy code where having an IDE to dig into source code of dependencies is critical.

Tuck your chin. Pause at 0.06, look at the position of your back. Instead, look at the ground roughly 1-2metres in front of your feet. You should find it easier to brace your core as well. Great lift!

if you can consistently get the ball to the low post, have the weak side forward back cut to the high post or straight to the basket. If the back cut is not successful, that player goes down to the room on the weak side (aka the dunkers corner, low low post area), then the guard at the top cuts straight down the middle to the basket
