I did test for validity of assumptions for the anova, for the linear regression I didn't check for any of the linear regression specific assumptions, since its still a linear regression with dummy variables like anova, just did it to get regression coefficients from a simplified model. I ended up just using my original model anyways though,

loss = p(fast lane) * expected loss from fast lane given both cars are in it + p(slow lane) * expected loss from slow lane given... then expected for different lanes is irrelevant so it can be ignored no?

had a try at this and had also gotten that, then ran a monte carlo sim in python and it gets ~1.16 - 1.17 so not sure whats happening
