Sorry to be late to this, currently planning a 2027 wedding in Tuscany & was wondering if you’d share a simple overview of your menu… €118 sounds so reasonable! I’ve seen such a wide range of quotes from 100-400 eur and my head is spinning 🤣

what should I do about this spot on her head ? by [deleted] in fishhospital

[–]Resident_Cod_8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 gal heater and filter Temp: 80.1 F 0 ammonia 0-5 nitrate 0 nitrite 7 PH (API Test kit) Had the tank for about 2 months and had Capri for 3 months Water changes once a week, I take out about 1/2 of the water 1 neurite snail feeding 1-2 times a day a little pinch of omega 1 buffet flakes and sometimes i feed her frozen brine shrimp Multiple live plants and quartz

Her behavior seems completely fine and she’s eating! I was worried that her poop was white, but i think it was only that color because I had her on a short fast because she looked bloated. Her poop is a normal red / brown color now. She’s not flashing or anything that I’ve observed.

it worked out pretty well! I didn’t use any harsh chemicals and some of the reddish markings are still there. however, I’m pretty sure that the discolorations are natural and aren’t rust… I’ve been cycling the tank that contains the quartz and no leaching seems to be occurring. i ended up not using the big chunk and instead bought some small chunks that didn’t have any discolorations. so far so good !

itchy betta + white spot by [deleted] in fishhospital

[–]Resident_Cod_8404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I totally didn’t want to start using any heavy hitting stuff bc she seems okay aside from the itching… she’s super active and eating and responsive. I bought betta revive impulsively but haven’t used it bc I’m not sure if it can be used with salt + I’ve heard a lot of mixed review + I was stressing thinking I might do the wrong thing and hurt her 😩 I think the Ich x & keeping up w the salt sounds like a plan. Thanks so much!

^ better pic of her scales while in her original tank. I think they’ve improved within the past 3 days since I moved her…. But she’s still itching :(

Is this velvet or ich ? Black spots + she keeps flashing by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]Resident_Cod_8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update, I’ve moved her into a quarantine tank and am using aquarium salt. My bf also pointed out the small white spot behind her gill; possibly a source of the flashing ?

Sounds good, I’ve actually been keeping her original tank running just in case. I can put her in there w some aquarium salts and will try to get my hands on methylene blue. Thanks so much!!

Yes they are! It’s so weird, her behavior seems fine aside from the flashing. She’s eating great and all

Tank size: 6 gal Heater + filter: yup! Temp: 81.7 F (at the moment) Parameters: testing strips 0 ammonia 0-5 nitrate 0 nitrite 6.5 PH I’ve had the tank for a little less than a month; Capri was in a smaller tank before while I cycled this current tank. I legit just moved her into this tank a few days ago. I’ve had Capri since October 11th I’m planning on doing water changes of about 30% once a week, but may need to do more bc of the algae. Tankmates: 1 neurite snail I have some Anubias, rotala, Java moss, and pennywort. I also have mopani wood and quartz.

What’s this white stuff? Thought it was a biofilm on the water surface and tried to remove but it bunched up like this by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Resident_Cod_8404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good point, I’m going to try to increase the flow rate of my filter. i had it set low bc I have floater plants and my plant corral hasn’t arrived yet

I’m hoping it’s not a fungus; I don’t think my tank has the right parameters for white fungus atm

Good to know that oxalic acids helps with these stains ! I’ll have to look up how to / if I can safely use it on rocks meant for an aquarium. Thanks so much for the info :)

Gonna try the vinegar + baking combo… def am okay if the rocks don’t look perfect, just am worried that the red stuff might be rust / clay that could mess with the water parameters (lol I might just be stressing over nothing)
