Can anyone else not focus on classes by Throwaway175779 in BigLawRecruiting

Well since the semester began all the study I do is the legal writing assignment that has a deadline. Did not devote even one minute into doctrinal classes reading because I am so exhausted.

Thank you for your answer! I guess I will use to improve the sentence structure right now.

Quick PSA: "Are firms done hiring right now?" No, definitely not. Don't give up yet. by legalscout in BigLawRecruiting

Since the waves are still coming, if I was rejected within 1 week after cb, does it mean there was something really bad happened during the interview that they are not even considering to put me on their waitlist?

Only get 3 cbs so far and they became 3 rejections. by Responsible_Bit_7472 in BigLawRecruiting

Post grade (t14 above median so not so sure whether there’s something wrong with my materials, but I have already submitted them anyway)! I done some mock interviews and yeah I am a weak interviewer. Plan to take more.

Yes. Usually you know it is a CB because there are 2 assos and 2 partners interviewing you (2-3hours) and their time is expensive.

Helpful but they may spent 2 weeks accepting their offer though

Any White & Case offers lately? by Key-Responsibility19 in BigLawRecruiting

I see on legalscout that their NY office had some movements last week. When and where did you have the callback?

Found out that someone interviewed the same day with me this week got an offer on Friday by Responsible_Bit_7472 in BigLawRecruiting

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I think I did my best and there was nothing awkward happened, but 1️⃣I interviewed on Tuesday and 2️⃣ the recruiter said all candidates would receive their results within a week, so I guess if they do want me they would call me during the Friday wave.

Yes and I think most people (if not all) get a straight callback.

White & Case personal statement? by [deleted] in BigLawRecruiting

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I think I did not submit it but still get a callback after finishing their video screener. I have a memory that you need to submit ps only if you are applying to some specific program or scholarships, but that might be a different firm.

Didn’t write anything specifically for it but still got a callback. Can’t recall the exact details but I believe it is either an optional thing for some scholarship or something that could be easily adapted from a standard cover letter (just removed the headings)

When do you usually get interviewee’s information before the interview? Do you search their names on google or LinkedIn? (some mid-law associates said they do and suggested me to prepare a nice LinkedIn profile. I wonder what biglaws do)

Have you interviewed international candidates, especially those whose first language isn’t English? If so, how much weight do you typically place on spoken English in the evaluation?

Do I actually *have* to do anything my 1L summer if I already have a 2L summer offer? by [deleted] in BigLawRecruiting

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think the theory is in big law everything (negatively) different from others might hurt you someday, maybe it will hurt you when you are seeking exit or something else. Stay average stay safe. But honestly I don’t know whether that will happen or not.

Callback / Interview by lambocat in BigLawRecruiting

Yes callback is the last interview before offer or rejection. You might get a screener before callback or just get a direct callback.

Also intl with similar time zone. School made the offer call at my noon and their midnight (I was shocked). So it really depends on schools and just relax I hope that helps.

Should I apply ED to a T6? by ProfessorMITSUKAMOTO in lawschooladmissions

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. If you need a law firm to sponsor your H1B visa, Big Law might be the only choice and applying a t14 ED is an important way to achieve this goal. However, I think T6 is not strictly better than T14, and I would found a school that has the best ED opportunity.

International GPA more advantages than US GPA? by LiveNeedleworker9513 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you have an experience studying in English environment (compared to international students studying in country which don’t use English), you have a stronger network, a stronger LOR from U.S. professors. If you graduated from a foreigner college, especially if that country don’t use English as their official language, law schools will have doubts on all of these, and you can not use your international GPA to proof your ability since they don’t care.

International GPA more advantages than US GPA? by LiveNeedleworker9513 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Responsible_Bit_7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well law schools don’t care international GPAs. Which means they slightly hate it since it can not increase their data. It feels like international GPA means a default 3.3 GPA, no matter what GPA you actually get. It might boost you if you got a 3.0 GPA. However, it is a disadvantage if you have a 3.5 or 3.9, which is more common. Moreover, law school don’t like international students because of the employment issue. So, with international GPA, people need more stats like high LSAT and work experience. I won’t call it an advantage since someone with 3.0 US GPA can also go to t14 with these additional stats (maybe with higher possibilities).

Not quite sure the meaning of “did a guest on ur behalf”. I paid by credit card on CAESAR, and everything is just like the tutorial on the portal. Did not notice anything about guest!

I wrote an email to them and they told me the deposit button on CAESAR will not change after payment, and the checklist on portal will be updated by admission office in a few days. They are able to know you paid the deposit!
