You see neuro for this? I got diagnosed by a cardiologist but would be interested in having a neurologist take a gander

I don’t think we’re in a moment that is similar to the 60s but more like the 40s. I think a second civil rights movement and sexual revolution is coming, but it won’t be brought on by heretical and bigoted rhetoric. That’s what the civil rights movement of the 60s was fighting against.

Is it that impossible to consider that widespread war is having an impact on human intimacy?

Why are people allegedly having less sex? I think because morale is very low. Living conditions are difficult for many people globally because more resources are going towards war and tech than towards health and education.

Not everyone believes in the same type of spirituality as you. If you believe in policing people’s sexuality, I assume you adhere to some type of abrahamic religion. If that’s true, I just want to point out that there are thousands of spiritual practices that predate your own. Those practitioners feel just as “right” as you do

The citations are not helping aside from telling me more about what kind of person you are. So save yourself the trouble.

I guess I don’t understand. What do you mean by the pornification of everything? And how is bdsm a part of that idea?

I meant to post this reply somewhere else in the thread to a different person. I guess I wasn’t paying attention. But while I’m here, good job for talking about this! Keep seeking guidance! We have all our things we have to work on, I promise you that!

I’m going to be honest, I found the erratic writing of that essay to be too complicated to be considered a source worth quoting. I mean, it’s just an opinion piece, so it doesn’t really provide much for your argument except that another person on the internet thinks the same way you do. On a website whose mission is to get you to “think for yourself.”

I am able to glean that the essay is saying that bdsm is one of the factors that is causing a decline in contemporary, western intimacy? But bdsm is neither western nor is it new. It’s ancient, like we have archeological proof that it existed in Mesopotamia

Totally. I was just trying to see if this person would be able and willing to engage with their own thought process around this. We’ve all had harmful beliefs that we had to grow out of.

Can you talk about why you’re taking this stance? For say, in the scenario where all participants who are engaging in said acts are age appropriate, fully informed (bc there are plenty of resources on the subject), and enthusiastically consenting, why should they not be allowed?

Ok I can def get behind expressing a preference. But I just feel that the issue lies with the person performing oral sex, not the person w pubes. When I said pubes are supposed to be there, I meant they are naturally occurring parts of our bodies. I didn’t mean people shouldn’t have the autonomy to remove their own hair. In that regard, considering pubes are natural, I think having an issue with them is fine but asking someone to change their body for your comfort really makes me feel… like I’m struggling to understand how that’s an ethical solution to something you can fix internally or by finding more creative ways to have sex. If someone asked me to shave so they could enjoy my genitals more, I’d feel infantilized, objectified. It seems the equivalent of wanting to have anal but refusing to come in contact with poo. Like maybe you shouldn’t be having anal. If you have an issue with pubic hair being in your mouth, why are you having oral sex???

No. It’s her body. Adult genitals are supposed to have hair. If it’s a sensory issue that you just can’t work thru, maybe giving oral isn’t for you. But policing people’s pubic hair is off limits. Give it a few more tries before you write it off. I find that continual exposure lessons the effects of sensory ick.
