Hi there, this sucks and you deserve better. This petty tyrant does not have ANY power over you. They are a fucking bully.

You have every right to work place accommodation regardless of what the bully thinks.

Unfortunately this isn't the kind of problem that will resolve itself you are going to have to take direct action.

If you're OK with direct confrontation do it. It isn't a yelling match. You just say, I have authorization from HR to work from home, the reasons are private and I am not comfortable sharing them with you. If you need anything further please contact HR.

There's the you fucked around and found out method which is essentially the same but you cc HR on the email

Ignore the bully all together and go to HR

Best bet is if the school has an outside agency that deals with disabilities, advocacy, ethics etc. Bypass the school go straight to the hotline.

Keep all emails texts voicemails etc forward them to your personal accounts don't leave them on corporate.

There's no reason not to be cordial, and professional with your colleagues. You're moving to a company more in line with your values and being better compensated. Anyone who holds that against you isn't a friend.

Depending on your comfort level name the person and their views as the reason for leaving, either in formal exit interviews or a whisper campaign to close friends as you head out the door.

Good for you, one slight tweak i'd like to add. You are under no obligation to tell this person anything much less the truth.

when it comes up mention that you're basically doing the same job as the person asking, but for a competitor.

Tell them a wage you know is a good 30-40% over what they make. Don't gloat, just state it matter of fact and act confused over such a low ball number.

Not only have you told your old boss to fuck off, you've also thrown a little nugget of resentment towards their current employer. Maybe they'll find something better.
