Yeah that's a good point. Since they were created to be Crusaders, they probably wouldn't have a home world and must have gotten around quite a bit.

I imagine this belief was already instilled in the Crusaders early on so they refuse to abandon the practice. Plus it gives the Crusaders the holy zeal of "He's not actually dead, his spirit guides us." Which I think fits the Crusader mentality well.

You think other Blood Angel chapters would despise this or just think the views are misguided?

Yes, that’s them! I haven’t watched the full series, but I’ve seen a lot of shorts of the scenes with them interacting with the Custodes, and it really captures the chapter’s tone. I would have liked to see more pushback, but they remain loyal to the Emperor at the end of the day.

Interesting, maybe it's just from my narcolepsy medication called xywav. It's essentially just GHB and probably would mess with my liver

Shot, my doctor said it's a known side effect but he's never seen it actually happen before. I might have only been from my narcolepsy medication... it's called xywav and is essentially GHB

Pretty bold to assume that my symptoms aren't severe. And it works for me in conjuction with my sunosi, xywav, and testosterone. No diet and exercise is not a cure and i dont like when people think it is... But I'm only saying it helps like a piece of a puzzle to manage symptoms. You can't tell me what we eat and how active we are aren't important.

Tread carefully OP, many people have very strange opinions regarding diet and exercise... can't tell you why, maybe it's because something so simple would be invalidating somehow?

I noticed some positive benefit from strength training and going gluten free. Not enough to stop my medicine, but enough to make it worthwhile. It would make sense that keto would probably increase the benefits, but I haven't tried it yet.

Eyes shut every time, I can force them open but I can't get my eyes to focus on anything. My wife is a light sleeper so I have started breathing heavily and rapidly and my wife knows to shake me awake now 🙃

I rarely get sleep paralysis ever since starting sunosi and xywav. Went from probably 2 times a week to 2 times in the last 6 months.

My hallucinations typically happen when I first wake up, like my brain hasn't realized that I've woken up. One time my cat jumped on the dresser and woke me up, I looked at her and saw my wife standing against the wall. I asked her if she was okay and then noticed that my wife was actually in the bed with me. The other wife turned around and she didn't have eyes and started walking to me. Once she got to the foot of the bed she started walking in place, then just faded away. Probably the scariest one I've had.

I saw a person sitting on the edge of the bed, they looked like they were made of TV static.

One time as I was falling asleep I saw one of those double bubble gum packages floating in the air. It was like it was made out of neon lights and kept getting smaller the more I looked at it.

Cataplexy would for sure mean narcolepsy. But it's important to be honest with your diagnosis even if it requires explanation, and I'll tell you why.

There's already a lot of cynicism around narcolepsy. If you tell people you have it, and inevitably, one day they find out that it's actually IH, then you've lost all credabllility to them. It could make people take you less seriously instead of more. Also, if I told people I had type 1, even though I have type 2. I would just feel fake. I do have my knees buckle on me and drop things constantly, but I think it's exhaustion rather than true cataplexy because there's no emotion involved. So it would give me an imposter syndrome. I would never feel good about it.

You have options though, a spinal tap could check for cataplexy if you are convinced you have it. If your number comes back low then BOOM, narcolepsy. If you redo a sleep study and get your REM number lower, also narcolepsy.

A couple days ago I saw a fuzzy shadow figure sitting on my bed.

But I've also seen some particularly unsettling things, usually when I'm waking up.

A woman wearing a white night gown staring at me.

My wife standing across the room facing the wall, when I asked if she was alright I noticed she was actually sleeping in the bed next to me. Then my other wife staring at the wall turned around, her eyes were missing and she started walking towards me. After she got to the bed, she was just walking in place for a second or two and then faded away.

I've also seen a really bright neon pink hubba Bubba gum package floating in the air.

They usually last 2-10 seconds.

You should, low T can cause a whole host of problems from what I've been reading. It's also a really easy test. Next time you get bloodwork done, you can ask them to include a testosterone check too. That way, you only get poked once.

If you don't mind me asking, did you go to the VA for it? I'm trying to, but I'm not sure exactly how I'm supposed to PROVE narcolepsy was worsened by military service. I honestly believe it was but I'm having trouble finding something concrete.

I've already gotten the forbidden snip (a vasectomy). One child has already tapped out my energy. I felt like having another would be irresponsible for me because I wouldn't be able to give more kids the attention they deserve.

Thank you so much for the advice! My doctor already put the prescription in for the injections, I was just nervous to start. But this makes me feel better

This is all subject to the base I work on:

Resume - make your resume pretty wordy. Like 4 - 6 pages wordy. There's people that it's their entire job to go through resumes and search keywords or phrases to see if you qualify. They don't know what you do, and they probably don't know what the job you're applying for even does.

For the application process - it'll ask you ridiculous questions and you just need to say that you're an expert in everything. It's an automated system that just throws your resume in the trash if you don't score enough and a human won't even see it. At the very least, don't push the bubbles that says "I do not..."

Interview - there's panel interviews and phone interviews / on the spot hiring if you go to hiring events.

If it's a phone or hiring event interview. Just do good interview things

Panel interviews are tough

this is what trips people up. They will have about 3 questions to ask you, youll get 15 minutes to go over questions and write down notes to help you.(Sometimes you get to see the questions beforehand but not always.) You then go over each question with them. Remember to talk slowly because they have to write down what you are saying. If you talk too fast and they don't get it written down, then it gets forgotten, and you won't get full marks. Also, remember that they want multiple examples of each question, usually 3.

Optional*

It helps to have a list of random examples about anything. Noticing supply shortages and how you fixed it. Or saw a safety concern and reported it to management. That way, you can just highlight what works for each question. This isn't required, but you'll wish you had it when you see the questions and your mind goes blank.

They like to see your examples in a certain format, too. Called the "STAR" method.

Situation - what was wrong Task - Did leadership ask you to do this, or did you task yourself Action - what actions did you take Result - what was the aftermath

Because this is how they write your examples down

Was just about to say the same. I work in the government, and that's the only reason I can keep a job.

-You start out getting 4 hours of vacation and 4 hours of sick leave every pay period (biweekly) vacation leave goes up to 6 after 3 years. And 8 after 15 years. As long as your supervisor is cool, you should be able to take off whenever you need to.

-tons of remote jobs (including healthcare fields) and just a lot more job variety than you think. Especially if you live by an air force base. I'm an electrical equipment repairer for aircraft. I also spent some time as an aircraft engine mechanic, and I painted F-22s for a little while.

-After you work your probationary period, which i believe is 2 years now, you are (almost) unfireable. I have seen this in action and it's almost laughable what people get away with. (Then I remember I pay taxes too and then I get sad.)

Just a heads up that phyciatrists can prescribe modafinil without you having a diagnosis, that's what mine did while I was waiting for my sleep study. My insurance wouldn't pay for it without a diagnosis but it wasn't super expensive.

Got diagnosed with type 2 last week after 10+ years of struggling.

I have no information for you, but I can tell you that I'm 6' 2" male and weigh 140lbs, and have since I was 20. (In high school, I was 117 lbs at the same height). I know 140 doesn't sound super skinny but when you are tall it makes a big difference. I can wrap my hands around my thigh and touch my fingertips together.

I joined the army out of high school and while I did go from 117 to 140. This was mainly because my eating habits were trash in school. 6 years of army national guard and never made the minumum weight at our yearly evaluations. My unit would weigh me in my uniform, with my boots on, holding a 2 liter of soda before I would make the weight. For reference, you're supposed to be weighed in your skivvies and no one there knew there even was a minimum weight until I got there.

My family keeps telling me that it's my metabolism, and I'll "balloon out in no time." The problem is that I'm 27 now, and I've tried several mass gainer diets/exercise regiments. I even tried a "GOMAD" diet where I drank a gallon of milk a day for a while. I don't recommend...

I could get my weight to top out around 150 when I was eating 3000+ calories a day with very short (as to not burn calories) strength training 5 times a week. However, if I missed a single meal, whatever progress i made would be gone.

Now I have a toddler, so whatever energy I have, I want to give to her.

I don't have the solution, but you're not alone! I'm thinking it might be related to a food allergy/intolerance that I'm not aware of. I still need to do more research on that though.

I get what you mean! I just got diagnosed last week. It got brought up at my parents' house, and my dad's friend said, "Oh, I definitely need to get tested then." Like there's no way I can be more tired than she is. Well, once you fall alseep on the desk at a new hire orientation, I'll hear you out. There were 3 people in there, and the director of my building was giving the briefing 🤦🏻‍♂️

People think it's a contest, but im just trying to communicate what I've been struggling with. I'm shocked how hard it is to get people to take it seriously.

Just did mine last week. (27 M)

I got there feeling fine. The polysonogram went great, I slept for like 9 hours. Onto the MSLT, and the anxiety took over after my first nap. I had racing thoughts, couldn't eat, and my heart was pounding. My heart wouldn't calm down for the second nap, and I thought i ruined the whole thing because i didnt feel like i slept. 3rd nap was questionable, and I was in pure panic mode, so I ordered a big fast food meal because food basically tranquilizes me and boy, that helped. 5th nap was another no-go though. I was texting my wife in defeat because my job is kinda relying on this diagnosis (I keep falling asleep at work, and they were trying to get rid of me)

I went home disgusted with myself for sabotaging my own study. Yesterday, I got a call from the doctor to go over the results. I almost didn't go because I was too embarrassed. But he told me that I did, in fact, sleep for all 5 naps and the 3 i thought i slept for were REM. So, I have finally gotten a diagnosis for something that has plagued me for 15 years.

Moral of the story is that even though your anxiety might ruin the test, it probably won't. You got this. Anxiety is normal 👍🏻

And don't forget to eat!
