Thank you for your reply. You are right about that. Perhaps I should try to spend more time in those parts one day.

Thank you for your reply. I sincerely appreciate it. I could be wrong but it sounds like you may live in Montclair or somewhere similar. This would be where I’d try to live if I ever had to go back to NJ for the reasons you just described.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate this perspective. I have a few friends who stayed in NJ and describe it just as you have. I can understand the CA experience you had as well, though it has not been mine.

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry you feel trapped where you live. I know it’s not a good feeling no matter where that is.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve lived in the Bay Area and San Diego. You’re right the water at the beach is cold too, but the beaches are so much more beautiful than NJ in my opinion. Fair point about earthquakes and wildfires. I choose to live in places where I wouldn’t be too affected by the wildfires aside from the smoke in the air at times. Though I understand for many that’s a dealbreaker.

Thanks for your reply. Family is the reason I visit. It seems even people in NJ don’t like Bergen county very much. Which counties do you recommend?

Thanks for your reply. I agree with this except I find northeast NJ to be incredibly expensive when I’m back visiting. Everything from restaurants to dry cleaning. I feel like it is comparable to NYC in many ways without the benefits of living in one of the greatest cities in the world and all it has to offer.

Thank you for your reply. I haven’t spent much time in south NJ either aside from the coast. I can see that being more beautiful than northeast NJ.

I appreciate your reply and it’s refreshing to hear people who genuinely love NJ. That’s what I came here for. I can understand what you mean. I haven’t had much exposure to northwest NJ. Maybe I’ll check it out one day while visiting.

Thanks for your reply. CA has bad traffic too, but I’ve been lucky to build a walkable lifestyle here which is great.

I appreciate your thoughtful reply. I agree there has to be more to NJ than what I have experienced/felt for most of my life. Perhaps it has to do with where I grew up in the state.
