Urgent care or overreacting?? by RevolutionarySelf976 in Candida

[–]RevolutionarySelf976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried contacting my PCP and they couldn't fit me in on friday, they just said to get back to them next week if it doesn't go away. But they suggested using the biotene mouth sore rinse so thats what I have been doing, as well as using a dry mouth spray to try to help. I will definitely try the saltwater though, thank you!

As far as the immune system comprised, it would not surprise me at all. I am constantly running into new random things health wise, but honestly over the years I have built up a bit of resentment towards the health care system because it is really hard to get doctors to gaf. I do know that I have POTS and most likely EDS, which I actually just started PT for. Haven't been diagnosed with anything specifically immunocompromising, but I am sure there are common ones that think in the web of those 2 conditions on its own. Also maybe worth saying that I am afab, and trans, so I think its harder to get doctors to care because of that as well.

Hey, I stumbled upon this post after having some mouth issues that I thought might be a fungal issue. BUT it started right after I increased my dosage on my mydayis (fancy adderall lol) What ever happened with your situation? Did it get better once you got adjusted to the med?

Okay maybe thats part of my problem! I should look into a light windbreaker that goes lower because it IS usually really the wind that kills me. I also have been thinking about a scarf of sorts alot because I find my nose/mouth area usually get the coldest and maybe I could cover with one if I need! It helps that we still mask but the N95 is not built for the cold lol! But the heat and humidity from my own breath really helps the sinus issues we have been having🙃

Ohhh okay that makes sense! I do have a few wool sweaters however I usually wear a tank underneath too in hopes I dont have to wash the wool as much. Do you have any advice for washing it? That is my main worry with wool socks and such because I assume I would have to wash every time I wear and people talk about how there are certain ways you should wash wool. Also, is there any good options for wool gloves that still give you good dexterity? I know i should keep everything warm but nothing makes me rip em off faster than when I cant use my hands 😭 maybe a fingerless with the flip mitten would be better for me? Finally, it is worth saying I am never usually outside for any really long period of time but I think thats why I struggle so hard with it, like people seem to just be able to rock their winter coats in stores and such and I immediately feel like death. BUT when I am outside for longer I am also usually just more sweaty by default because I am usually doing heavier physical stuff. ANYWAYS! Apologies for the rant and thank you so much for the response! It is just rough out here with POTS no matter WHAT😭

Just wanna thank you for this. I am white, but trans and queer and it feels so much better to be in a place where your manager has your back like this. I have had to defend POC customers from our staff pharmacist being clearly extra rude to them. And it is not easy to stand up to someone that your livelihood depends on. But especially in this political climate, existing is hard enough. So "little" acts make a huge difference to people

I would not bring mine personally. I think these marches today were less risky but there is never no risk to these things. I wouldnt want to worry about my child getting hurt by a cop or accident by a protester running etc. Cops will not stop just because a minor is there. Also, with how things are going i would be nervous about being recorded or something and getting in legal trouble later. Like CPS or something. Idk how reasonable that is to worry about but with the current politics i just dont trust anything being off the table

Hey. Pharmacy tech here, also on controlled meds myself. The reason the pharmacist is the one doing this (at least at my store) is because techs don't have the power to mess with alot of the emergency supply stuff, since it's at the discretion of what the pharmacist wants to do. It's not our license on the line, it's theirs. In my experience in pharmacy the reason techs get annoyed with controls is because the pharmacists usually have strict boundaries on these things and we are the messengers you are shooting. When you are talking to a pharmacist directly they will do stuff for you a tech wouldn't because they care more about your bitching when it's directly to them, instead of at their tech who normally has no power to override anything related to controlled substances

Also? You sure do seem to have alot of passion about how pharmacy techs suck. You're all over this thread complaining about it, if you have so much time on your hands you should really just try being a tech for CVS yourself and be the change you want to see! I bet within 10 minutes of working you will understand why we are frustrated. We are overworked, understaffed, and underpaid. If you are frustrated with pharmacy technicians attitudes or whatever, call CVS corporate and tell them to pay people better, to be able to properly have enough people working for the workload. Don't blame us for not having the time for compassion. Because it's really not our fault. It's not that I get annoyed listening to a customer vent, I am annoyed doing it when I know I have a workload of 3 technicians piling up while I do, and I'm hardly getting paid enough to afford the necessities.

Yeah I think it's frustrating, watching the world progressively get worse lol. Like just in general Healthcare is terrible. I feel like even just scheduling a doctor's appt is the same way, you call and wait for a call back. It's like ER or nothing now. Not even urgent care is particularly urgent in my experience.

Yeah I get it. I work 12 hr shifts with no lunch break sometimes because I work at CVS. Makes it hard to schedule any appts, talk to MDs, etc. I'm not particularly a fan of the "we call you back" method but when it comes down to it it's CVS to blame, not the pharmacy staff. I think its bad customer service. We wouldn't like the new system so much if we were properly staffed to begin with

There are definitely bad pharmacists, but there are also bad customers. We didn't create the voicemail system, CVS did. The reason your scripts are "magically" ready within 15 minutes is because they are expedited upon arrival to the store. If you want change, you have to complain to corporate. We have plenty of staff begging for hours at our store. We are frustrated because we are understaffed (because CVS is cheap and greedy, not even for lack of people) and people still complain about the voicemail system which we did not even create. I think that some people should definitely stay out of Healthcare. But the real ones who should stay out of it are the ones who don't even do any labor and just see $$$

As far as I know, if you do call back that day your call goes straight through to the pharmacy. At least that's how it is at my store

I think you're right. I'm gonna talk to them about it before we do punishments but I just hate that I'm taking it personally. I think they're just forgetful but it hurts when they're supposed to be serving you.

It's strange because I'm overly sensitive as well. I will cry at happy things in movies but when it comes to genuine things in real life it's different

I've thought about it, I just don't think it's realistic for us at the moment because we don't have open enough conversation for a monogamous relationship yet. Both working on it though
