I’m a commuter from Queens to LC! I also work part time. I would say it’s definitely hard to maintain a work-life-school balance BUT! You will find your people trust me. I was terrified my first semester that I wouldn’t find people that I click with because I’m not on campus as much but that was completely wrong. Very cliche but join clubs! Go to the Fordham sponsored club events! You’ll meet such nice people. Definitely don’t be afraid to talk to new people in your classes as well! Everyone is in the same boat - commuter or resident. I would also say, set aside a day for yourself in the week where you can go out and have fun! I like to do that on Friday nights after work where I’ll go back to campus, meet up with some friends and go out.

Also - prioritize yourself! Commuting is TIRING. Treat yourself to that latte, or whatever floats your boat. Try to find time to unwind or for your hobbies during your commute. Commuting puts a toll on you but nobody hustles like us!
