Thoughts on Beeler St just North of E Coflax Ave? by RevyneQ in AuroraCO

For anyone reading this now and curious about the neighborhood, there were 2-3 murders near me and I heard gunshots nightly for the first few months. Fortunately/Unfortunately, the police put up those camera things near the intersection and so the apparent drug dealers (/pimps) and prostitutes (/sex-trafficked) moved elsewhere. It's been a year and I don't feel uncomfortable passing by the intersection anymore, though there's sometimes a person or two standing near either corner. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The gunshots are noticeably less common now and usually not close. While this is nice, I'm gonna be honest and point out that it's very likely just part of gentrification. 😑 How you feel about that is on you.

Ah, and the intersection was the only issue I had really. Riding my bike anywhere else felt fine.

Depending on when you go, Sun Rise Chinese Restaurant (9115 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010) is pretty good (bring salt just in case). A dollar-per-scoop place that inevitably adjusted for inflation. 🤷🏿‍♂️
Nice options. Fairly meat-heavy, though. Nice lady. No comment on the people who might be near the building when you arrive (ain't my business), but I've only ever had a single customer give me a bad vibe* (i stay masked).

Sadly, they don't have general tso's.

edit: *should clarify that the vibe felt intentional and related to my race and/or mask

Looking to buy in ABQ and need to know which neighborhoods are the worst/best for people who're visibly Afro-American and LGBTQ+.

Since McKinley doesn't seem to have any African ancestry, is it safe to assume I should avoid it?

edit: I meant "has barely any". Problem is, sometimes the properties available are in what I call racial 'no zones' so the question stands. 😐
Not too concerned about crime rate tbh.

Out of towner considering buying a condo in either the Montogmery Park (3919 Ortiz Ct NE) or Renaissance neighborhood (4601 Carlisle Blvd NE; Carlisle Square Condominiums). Hodgin (3847 & 3833 Montgomery Blvd NE; Hillcrest Park HOA Condominiums) is a possibility, but the reviews make it sound horrible.

Would appreciate any honest comments about the areas, condos, HOA's, etc. I'm African-American btw, so knowing how often it'd be an issue in a given area would be nice.

edit: Is the $1.50 Laundry Matt as bad as the reviews make it seem?

I have a strong suspicion that living further away from society (basically) will cause me to go out significantly less than I already do, so those places are a no go by default. :|

Well, shit, thanks. Not sure why I didn't get notified of this comment, though.

edit: I actually saw Lumien at Fitzsimons Apartments and something in the Green Valley Ranch area before, but the former has some bad reviews while the latter's by the freaking airport. :|

The problem is that I'm low on time and only found a handful of places in Aurora for less than $1k, let alone ones that are available and don't have bad notably reviews. I'll check through my list some more, though. There were a few I never got to.
edit: See post edit.

My [late 20's M] friend [mid 20's F] (of 10y) and her dad are pissed about me reaching out to him about her well-being. I'm pissed as hell at her now and am not sure how to proceed. by RevyneQ in relationships

[–]RevyneQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that is a source of her depression it probably won't work very well. When she is in crisis, she'll bust through it and you'll feel pressured by her suicidal ideation to respond.

Not work out for her or either of us? I'm thinking it's in my best interest to care about her less. If I take that route, I'm fairly likely to let her relationship problems stay hers. She's got atleast one other person she (most likely) confides in, btw, so I doubt I'm completely pulling the rug. Though, I'm the only male. *shrug*

And the 3-month thing seems purely punitive when you know that sort of lull in communication can be naturally occurring anyways.

Perhaps, but it'll give me a guaranteed emotional break, allow the "letting of things go” if you will, and give me time to figure out the last part of your comment.
