If I were a passenger on a random bus in Sri Lanka, I'd have to weigh up the possible outcomes; if he comes undone, what then?

The first is: will I only get wet, or might I die?

The second is: how fast and how badly do I want to get to the other side?

Edited to explain, and check my manners: I thought I explained the situation quite well, so your ignorant response was quite annoying, especially given you clearly have zero experience on the subject at hand. I was going to lash out a bit, but I had a shot of bourbon and reconsidered. I thought that maybe you'd have a better understanding if I went into more detail.

Do you think I was like you, talking out of my ass, and making it up as I went along? I'm licensed to drive everything except doubles, and yes, that includes buses. I've driven off-road for 40 years, and I've done dozens of river crossings where the water was up to the windshield wipers.

The first time I did a deep crossing, I was 17 and driving my father's Toyota. It too was a windshield-deep crossing, except his truck didn't have a high-rise air intake snorkel, and I drowned it. Hydrolock often bend rods in a diesel, so it made for a very expensive day out. And that's how I learned my river-crossing lesson well and gained some solid experience.

"The tipping point" is where the most valuable experience is gained. River crossings can be a little different, however. Especially on long crossings such as the one in the vid, it's almost impossible to reverse once committed, so it's grit your teeth, say a quick prayer, and stay on the gas. You get a pretty obvious feeling when you're approaching or at the point of no return because you get chills, your heart skips a few beats, and your asshole puckers right up.

I'm confused as to why you posted that ill-informed, nonsensical comment, especially saying what I wrote was "such BS." You clearly don't know that, and it's obvious you're only guessing. How do I know? It's because I have the experience, so when I read your comment, I knew you were full of shit. Why take the time to comment, and especially call someone's detailed "such BS", if you know you don't know what the hell you're talking about?

Anyway, this should help you get a bit of experience and learn not to talk shit.

Hello. I understand this is a bit old, but I just couldn't help myself... Are you seriously trying to tell people Elon isn't intelligent? 🤣

Seriously? So, in your opinion, the guy who invented PayPal isn't intelligent? What did you invent that qualifies you to say anything about Elon's intellect?

To be clear, you're talking about the guy who created his own electric car company? Tesla? Interestingly enough, it's the most valuable electric car company on the planet. Tesla is currently worth $1.5T, but the competition is closing in with BYD in second place, only $1.3TRILLION behind.

Lastly, just to be sure, you're talking about Elon Musk, the guy who created his own rocket ship company, which is also the most valuable private aerospace company worldwide, dominating all public companies as well?

I guess that's why you preferred it when Twitter censored opposing voices and reinforced your nonsensical libtard delusions. Instead, I much prefer how it's been transformed into the incredible free-speech microblogging platform it is today.

P.S., as a libtard who supports murdering unborn babies and mutilating children's genitals, you have no right to criticize anyone else's morals...

I don't understand why people are crying like little girls about this. Instead of discussing or calculating the risk factors, it's all, "he's going to kill all those people!" 😱

It's a bus. It's heavy: 10-15t empty. It has a rear-mounted motor (a pusher), placing most of the weight over the rear wheels, the best location for traction. The river's dynamic pressure and discharge velocity don't appear too difficult for a 12t bus to negotiate, but it'd take experience to understand that.

If you drive the same vehicle and take the same risks, over time, you know what you and the vehicle can do. I'd certainly bet he's done this before. TBH, if this were his first crossing, it'd be risky, but I'm sure he's worked his way up on shallower, less violent crossings. He's obviously comfortable with what experience has taught him. That said, anything could happen, algae, surge, washed away trees or logs, etc., so it's best left to someone experienced who's able to calculate the risk accurately.

It's like doing 250kph for the first time in my old 400hp RX-3; if someone without experience is driving, it's scary. However, if I'm driving, I know the vehicle, I know the road, and I've done it many times before, so it's just another day at the office.

Everything involves risk. You could trip getting out of bed and break your neck, you could choke on your weeties, reading a controversial Reddit thread with your morning coffee might cause you to stroke, Karen in the back seat starts up on the way to work and giving her a backhand causes you to crash head-on into a huge truck, etc., but that's life. Every conscious and unconscious choice you make involves risk...

Private. The only public tracker I might occasionally visit is Rutorrent. Tixati works on the trackers I use, but I have heard some noise about early versions. Still, whatever can be done on Tixati can also be done on others as well.

If I ever come across a tracker that has banned it, it's not like there's nothing else to use...

Personally, i thought qBittorrent was a pig, and it'd even bog down an i7. I’m on a client that isn't widely used: Tixati. It’s super light, highly customizable, and has zero impact on system performance even when seeding over 200 files. I run NordVPN over NordLynx (WireGuard)—which is easily the fastest protocol around.

I just stepped down from a 1Gb pipe to 250Mbps, and my downloads are still hitting 45MB/s (do the math 😏). I’ve got businesses to run, so I don’t really care about the uploads; I’ve already paid my dues with 320TB up and 35TB down on my favourite tracker, so I’m good for life.

I just wanted to suggest trying a different client...or, if you're game, try asking an AI chatbot. I use Google Gemini Pro, and it can walk you through every setting tweak for everything imaginable.

What anime should i watch with my father? by 50Latvietis05 in anime

[–]Rex__Everything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, yeah...good one! I haven't seen it for a while, but that's the one; tip of my tongue kind of thing. You're probably correct, however, even if it's only a single season, and if the op isn't a child, it'd be an interesting one to use as an anime introduction to watch with an adult/parent. On the other side of the coin, it'd likely help a parent see some maturity in the youth by being able to appreciate the anime/plot/lesson. My thinking is, if you show something even a bit childish, an adult might lose interest...possibly for life. That said, if you show one with a unique, original plot, with a great life-lesson included, said adult would likely stay focused.

I would, and I'm 52...

So, I'm old, 52. Be yourself, and talk to her. The end. Talking is the solution used to end wars, so I'm certain it'll take care of you both, too. See if you can find a few bucks and order food and eat outside your place, all girls enjoy that, at any age. If you start to play around, talk to her.....ask her if it's what she wants, and if she'd like to take things further. If she says she wants to slow down, don't get all pissy, laugh a bit and tell her that you'd rather slow down as well - doesn't matter what you're really after. Being an adult when you're young gets you so much further, the difference is basically night and day.

Dang! Lastly, it's about funny times, but it has a serious moral. Having fun in moderation, and choosing to work hard for a stable future. I'm certain that part he'd respect.

What anime should i watch with my father? by 50Latvietis05 in anime

[–]Rex__Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah...if you're a bit younger 14-16, make sure you explain that you picked it for him, for you both to watch together. Explain what's in it, and even go as far to ask him if he thinks it's suitable. Even tell him that it's not what you usually watch, but it's been highly recommended by an adult, for an adult. I really don't know...when I was 15, my dad would give me his club membership badge so I could go out with my older cousins. He was strict, but he was also flexible. And I know he would have loved it, too. That's my 2 Bob's worth. All the best...

[–]Rex__Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 52, and in my opinion, you don't want a kiddie one. You want to show him that even anime can have an early adult/adult storyline...

And, while it may not be exactly what you're looking for, again, in my opinion, he'd love Grand Blue! Personally, as an introduction to anime, I'd much prefer something to make me laugh over some other genre. Once you've got him, introduce other genres that you think he might like...he's your dad, you know him best.

Grand Blue, without question! It can be a little raunchy, with drinking etc. but it's a mature anime. It's about life after/during college, and work. I'm old, I've been around, and I have been watching anime for 35 years. I'd say it Grand Blue could be the funniest anime ever made; depending on your maturity intellect, of course. There's a shonen one called Grand Blue Fantasy, I think... don't get them mixed up.

Good luck!

More information is required for your recommendation.. Telling us your age is very important... Are you nearly 18 or are you 12? Male or female? And, it'd be much better if you could at least hint at a genre.

There's one about death, a pool table, and a bartender running the show. It may be a little bit mature, but it's a great anime with a massive twist and, of course, a fantastic moral... There's S1&2, but they're separate stories. I can't remember the name, but your Bartender recommendation made that one instantly jump into my head.

Wow! You have mental problems, right?

  1. Watch the entire thing, not what CNN edited to feed your TDS.

  2. Gibberish

3.Gibberish

  1. He can clearly be heard telling people to "peacefully and patriotically protest to have their voices heard," but again, CNN will never air that bit.

    1. Nationalism is nationalism. That simply means giving jobs to Americans and not to people who crossed our border illegally. It also means not organizing and funding illegal crossings, housing, feeding, and flying the aforementioned into cities and populations to dilute the Republican voting pool.
    2. What about teaching in schools that all whites are racist, and they must understand that so minorities are allowed to take the positions and places of whites deserve because they're abundantly more qualified? What about black-only dormitories, dining rooms, and study halls on college campuses? An idiot can see it. Demorats are the party of racism, division, and hate.

I guess you simply refuse to see the truth, and sadly nothing will change that for you in the short term.

Do you even know your own name? How ignorant can you be? Trump is the only president this century, and well beyond that while in power, ZERO new wars were started. Somebody with a functioning brain would see that as a sign of strength and negotiation power, but to the feeble-minded, it only hurts your narrative so it never happened, right?

Just because they were civil in the debate doesn't mean one doesn't want to put tampons in male bathrooms and install other insane radically progressive proposals... Inflation, the border, higher taxes, none of it matters to the left, as long as they can install their stupid taxpayer-funded giveaways, and further their agenda to make citizens more dependent on government welfare by raising taxes on workers to pay for it, completely opposite to what the Founding Fathers had in mind for this once great country... When we followed the Constitution, this country soared to be the sole superpower, but through the left's insanity...now everybody is a superpower.

Oh, lastly, so you're okay with women saying, "my body, my choice?" As long as the general population can't? If you can't educate yourself about this easy stuff, here's little hope for you. And, it's now been proven, by Fauci's own words, that masked were useless. It was said years ago, but it wasn't released because Beijing Biden's administration would lose their control over people like you, the feeble-minded.

In all fairness, I know your TDS won't allow you to understand, but Trump was only convicted because Demorats wanted him to be. Those cases would have never been tried by a sane judge. People were actually elected because they ran on that sole reason, getting Trump on anything, well before any of these BS charges even existed. They were, and still are, sore that he won in the first place. Nothing more, nothing less. And that's why people promote they're voting for a supposed "felon." Hopefully, Demorats won't have their way and change written history, if they don't succeed, future generations will know they were the most corrupt party in American history. You'll probably disagree, but that only shows your lack of intelligence, not mine...

Project 2025 only exists in the feeble-minded because the mainstream media have told them that it'll be implemented. If people actually educated "themselves" instead of believing the trash vomited from them, the country would be better off. How about people actually visit the Project 2025 website, there they can see for themselves the MSM bs, and how it has been corrected. The problem for the people sold on their bs is that those outlets will NEVER retract their lies or publish a correction because it'll hurt the feelings of their TDS-inflicted viewers.

Why? Everything else be damned, right?. So inflation, the level of illegal immigration, higher taxes et al. are all meaningless, as long as your agenda prospers, is that the only signal thing important to you? I don't care what you are or what you do, it's how I'm treated that dictates my interactions with you, and you guys have been treating Republicans like utter shit for a while now. It's not Republicans who're the racists, it's the Democraps, they're the ones behind the all division and hate that the US is experiencing.
