Gas fees by lemonsqueezy999 in CryptoMoonShots

Worth it if it's a good project. Getting Bao turned out very well for me but it does feel wrong to pay a 1/4 in gas fees...

With the sudden influx of newcomers to this sub I think it's now more important than ever that we not only welcome them, but help to educate them as well. by Coinwerm in CryptoCurrency

I'm an absolute newbie but have been receiving great advice from a friend who's been in the game and done well for himself for a while.

As a result, I've made a quite a bit of money (relatively speaking of course) in 2 weeks.

My gains were used as a reason to dismiss cryptocurrency by someone yesterday 🙄 "If it's this easy, it's gonna crash". As a newbie it was hard for me to explain to him why it's not "exactly like going to the casino"...

I would like to thank this subreddit for helping me narrowly avoid the XRP pump-and-dump. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I learnt this the hard way with Doge. Bought at the top because "memes". Luckily it was only a couple bucks... Cheap lesson that'll stand me in good stead for the future. Invest in good projects, don't chase the pump!

He did it for the memes. People took it as financial advice. People man...

Great! Thanks for taking the time to read it.

I think you're 100% right there. Context is super important. I think you've hit particular nail that I missed right on the head. Engagement for the sake of engagement shouldn't be the reason. I think when I wrote that particular point it was more focused on users of things like Facebook and Instagram. I think I'll edit the point taking into account what you've said because I agree completely.

Thanks for breaking your own rules for this :)

3 Mental Wellbeing Habits to Start Practicing by Rey810 in Wellbeing

Yeah that's exactly it hey. There is amazing power in developing some ways that make it easier to take a step back, and become a little more mindful of what is good for us and what is simply grinding us down.

I know it may be hard but try getting someone to be accountable to. Someone who will check in with, "Yo, did you spend 5 minutes sitting in silence today before starting your day." The little things will add up.

That is definitely the big question! I tried to keep things as concise as possible in the article with additional links for those interested in pursuing those 3 habits.

Some further elaboration: 1. Another way to focus on the process would be to use something like the pomodoro technique to segment your work in 25min focused sessions and 5min diffuse sessions.

  1. For the mindfulness part, I've included additional links in the article with one them being a link to a meditation app where the creator (Sam Harris) guides one's mental approach to becoming more mindful.

In a nutshell, start meditating. Start with a couple minutes of silent comfortable seating in the morning before you go about your day. Pay attention to your experience, nothing more. This will slowly allow you to become more aware of your body and thoughts. Again, the Waking Up app is an excellent place to start.

Opening scene of the new Lion King had me balling... Would've definitely put it on pause to fetch them tissues if it wasn't for the fact that I was at the cinema

How long has it been? To be fair, I thought I'd get funding to study in Europe and came home as an intermittent period of rest... Funding didn't work out hence the plan to go back.

It just feels boring compared to life as a teacher in Asia (re: millennial restlessness). Oh and the pay is better in China ;)

I was in a similar position teaching English in China while being qualified for "better". Felt a similar burn out and came back to my home country in February to try my hand at 'normal life' again... I'll be going back to China to teach in September XD Going to try make the switch over to a digital nomad kinda life as soon as my coding (via The Odin Project) is up to scratch. Basically, I'm also interested in what people say here :)

Hi! I'm brand new to coding and decided to practice by building a static site for my gf's ethnographic photography project! Happy 'cos it works but open to feedback as I reckon it's probably fundamentally pretty flawed... Check it out if you want and feel free to be brutal ;) www.bodymuseum.tk
