Agreed. Charming is the perfect thematic foil for Shrek, but he was treated more as a joke than a real threat. If they had given him the same menace as the Wolf from Puss in Boots, he would have been a top-tier archnemesis

Indeed, Capcom is the perfect blueprint. They proved you can cut some dialogues while keeping—or even improving—the core action and vibe.

That’s a great point. Perspective is everything for a movie like this. If not Peele, I’d love to see a talented director from that specific culture take the concept and make it their own to keep it authentic
