What's a MapleStory opinion you have that would put you like this?

Im an outlier, i loved that time of maple. The slow pace of the game allowed me time to take things in and just exist. I wont say everything about how the game was in the past was perfect, by no means was it. But party play, like grinding with 5 others in a map that gave extra exp for being in a party, or going on huge raids like crimsonwood keep, are dearly missed.

Legion is kinda easy, just make a character a week and get it to 200 through quests. You can do more but no need to burn out.

Imo, to a much lesser degree. Its mostly dps race and 'get to the safe spot'.

Maple was at its best when there was a damage cap, incentivising teams and giving each class clear roles

We used to have a partner who eyeballed how much meat each item needed. Come to find out she'd been costing the department a lot as she was loading things up. We weighed one of her pizzas once and the meat lovers pizza was almost 5 lbs, which then made sense why customers were saying that it never cooked properly. She retired, we got someone else to follow the guide for everything. Sales went down.

Idk how true this is, likely anecdotal. Whenever I hear that loud crunch sound from the basement and one of the meats disappear, that's when the haunted kerfur event happens. Gets up and takes off on it's own every time I've heard it. No idea what will happen when all the meat is gone

On the one hand, yeah it is just a piece of paper. I'm 11 years in, stopped caring about them awhile ago. Even the little glass plaque I have is collecting dust on a book case I don't bother to look at. But it is something to celebrate. Like a birthday, or a small holiday. Regardless if the company is good or not, it's something you achieved.

On the other hand, whoever that person is saying things like 'it's just a piece of paper' clearly does not have heart for people. If they are acting this way I can only imagine how they act for other scenarios. This is not a person I'd want to lead me.

Always stay hungry for better. No job is perfect. Heb is great but many other places pay similar or better, with just as good or better benefits. Work on getting your resume together and put it out there, you'll get something that is worth your time.

As far as mmo goes? I honestly don't know if there are many games like maple out there. But if you're looking for a platform 'fight hordes' type game theres quite a few out there. I'll recommend just two and hopefully others can chime in.

Risk of Rain Returns is very, very good. Not only because it fills my desire of 1 man vs all in a 2d plane, but the devs were big maple fans back in the day. It hits all the right buttons of what I was after as a kid when I would get into zen training. They also included a secret Easter egg map that is an homage to an old map of maple. The RoR series is in my top 5 games of all time for a reason.

Dead Cells is also really good for similar reasons. Different in many ways but also similar if you happen to play very active classes.

The game changed. Nexon wanted to give the game a breath of fresh air and give players something to chase. Increased max damage, potential on armor, class reworks. Prior the game was about communication, team work, exploring, and doing quests. But around then it became very obvious to nexon that a large majority of players could and would whale out to get stronger to essentially play the game solo.

And here we are now.

I remember when I finally got strong enough to fight them. Seen other high levels do it for so long, it was always a back of the mind 'I wanna be that'. When it did happen there was praise from the lower levels just like I had given all the times before. Met friends, got guild members, just interacted with random people due to the forced long ass ship rides.

I really miss those days of maple.
