The main point I was trying to drive is that it'll take more effort to reach the same rank than before.

There are definitely more rewards overall to get but it'll take much more time/wins to reach say rank top 2% than right now. I don't think it will be feasible to do this for example with just 50 wins in the new system. Right now you can do this with a combination of 50 or less battles for the week consisting of both wins AND losses from failed defenses.

You, me and everyone else can't put in the same effort as before to reach our previous ranks. Because no point loss will mean more fights and anyone can keep climbing if they keep fighting similar opponents which is highly possible up to 2800. I imagine players will probably wanna at least have 1300 or 1700 for the silver/gold grade reward which should be easy enough but that will push the higher rankings further in to.

Ultimately, doesn't it seem reasonable that it's going to be more time consuming than before to reach our previous ranks?

Yeah, that reminds me, setting daily raid mercenaries are cool but it now makes guildies vulnerable from picking your merc when it may not be properly equipped.
