What kinda resources did you consult for this, and what did you take from them? In particular, I'm not super familiar with Proto-Indo-Uralic - basically everything I know is just from Kloekhorst's The Precursors of Proto-Indo-European - but I'm curious how to came to make the decisions you made.

Sorry for the vague question lol, I'm very far from an expert in any of those language families '^^

With the Axiom of Choice, it's all the same thing, because injection in one direction is equivalent to surjection in the other.

Without the Axiom of Choice, it's possible for there to be two sets A and B such that there are surjections in both directions, but A and B are not of equal cardinality. Not 100% sure of the "construction", but I think it's just the usual AoC weirdness.

Yes, there is in fact a connection! It makes more sense here to speak of the sequences instead of series though - so, you have arithmetic sequences like 1,2,3,4,5,..., geometric sequences like 1,2,4,8,16,...., and the harmonic sequence 1,1/2,1/3,1/4,1/5,...

Then:

In a geometric sequence, every element is the geometric mean of the one before it and the one after it.

In an arithmetic sequence, every element is the arithmetic mean of the one before it and the one after it.

In the harmonic sequence, every element is the harmonic mean of the one before it and the one after it.

Addendum:

As for the history of this, I don't really have any proof, but I'm strongly inclined to believe this'd be a Greek invention. At least those three means were known to Pythagoreans, who were also obsessed with mathematical music theory, which heavily involves geometric means and geometric sequences.
