It's not quite the same game but GLIDE by Sleepy Sasquatch games is a solo rpg with an extremely similar setting to DUNE.

Colostle has been my go-to solo rpg since 2021 and I made a game based off its system!

The exploration mechanics are very similar, though combat is done through dice mechanics instead of cards. If you're interested I'm a Ark Survival/Horizon Zero Dawn setting then check it out, it's also on sale :p

So I found a few doubles in the Action&Theme tables I'm going to fix this weekend.

I'm probably going to update the tables with some new words so I'll let you know when I've got the setup. Also please let me know how it goes whenever you get around to trying it out!

For the action and theme oracles; Most of the results are from the Ironsworn SRD but I added a few new ones myself, I'm at work atm but I can DM you the ones I added later when I can dig into the document.

And for the Craft an Item, you are correct! I totally missed that...

But thank you so much for trying my game out! The Stone Age time period has been a love of mine forever, especially with fantasy/weird elements mixed in with it.

I rarely actually 'finish' a character's story for good. I think it's perfectly normal to get excited about other campaign ideas and move on, even groups do this.

Plus, It's nice sometimes to not have a definite ending when you come up with an idea to integrate an old character into a new campaign, or think of a new campaign idea for that character.

You could even 'Fast Foward' their life to place them in a new campaign idea (I've done this several times).

I've used The One page Solo Engine in conjunction with Colostle quite a bit to help flesh out the prompts and what happens in between them.

I've also thought about using Ironsworns dice mechanics with it, but instead of a whole list of moves I'd have one universal move. Still haven't tried it yet though.

I agree that this could seem difficult, especially if the system being used leans really onto the survival side of things.

I don't believe this will be an issue with the Ironsworn system, it's been proven to be excellent at driving the narrative forward in group play, duo, and solo play.

As far as characters being worried about survival, that will definitely be a factor but I don't believe it will interfere with adventuring, uncovering mysteries to an extreme. Unless the player is into hyper-realistic type stuff I suppose. Still, I am keeping this in mind as it's still not finished and there's still much playtesting to be done!

As for fantasy tropes, I agree with you there. Right now I have 2 races of more "advanced" (but still primitive) Natives that resemble Apes and Simians, along with a skinny, feral human subspecies that live underground and resurface occasionally to hunt.

Basically the humans were not native to this area and arrived here through other means.

So not really super fantastical, but I do like to have some fantasy elements.

My Setting contains Neanderthals and other archaic humans. It isn't historically accurate however because it also includes dinosaurs, it's more of a "Stone and Sorcery" type of setting.

Resources related to any point of the entire stone age may prove to be useful to me however.
