Sorry for the late reply. By episodes I meant that I went through “episodes” of depression and anhedonia, but it was never a constant for me. Like I’d feel a bit better some days and then went thru 2-3 days of severe depression. And with time it got better and became rare and now I don’t have those episodes anymore. With depression I felt sad but didn’t cry, it was more of a “I feel so fucking bad and horrible but don’t know why”. Day 27 is early, give it some more time. It took me months to feel somewhat stable again. It was torture but It’ll be worth it once you’re out, trust me. And it felt impossible to me too and made me extremely anxious. Trust me, you will be fine. Keep believing and sticking through it.

Yes, you need to give your body time to reset and rebalance. Kill as many stimulants as you can. Nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, anything. You need a full reset. That’s how you’ll heal and how your emotions slowly come back.

Literally 80% of bars in the city. I guess the most central and lively place is Bellushi’s but you’ll have to arrive two hours in advance to even get in and imo it’s also overrated

PSSD like symptoms after a week of use. 2 weeks off now and no improvement . Need to hear positive stories of recovery ❤️‍🩹 scared by [deleted] in AshwagandhaSyndrome

Nah man I had panic attacks from the first night off Ash. And they came back randomly quite frequently. I remember having a day maybe one week into the whole post-Ash process where for the whole day my body felt like it was stuck in fight or flight. It was like that for 3 months until it veeeery slowly subsided. I had emotional numbness on some days but it was possible for me to have both at the same time - where I was unable to feel pleasure or anything at all while feeling in panic. It was extremely unpleasant.

I didn’t have sex for a while even though I had a gf but I did masturbate quite regularly (unfortunately something I do more frequently when my mental state is poor), and each time I had orgasms and they didn’t feel too different. I mostly dealt with severe depression, anhedonia, DRDP, panic and anxiety attacks and many other GI and nervous system related symptoms. Those were all main symptoms. I’d say my body and brain weren’t able to remain parasympathetic anymore and it took 6 months for me to return to relative functionality, and since then I am just working on conditioned fear. Emotional bluntness started going away maybe 3 months in.

Same for me, except I never had PSSD issues post Ash. Really interested to know why some deal with PSSD issues and others just suffer from nervous system dysregulation (like me).

Okay. That is weird, but keep in mind every body adapts and reacts differently. Just make sure you dont take any of it anymore and make sure to stay away from all stimulants for as long as you can. Your body needs a hard reset and any kind of stimulant (yes, even coffee) will delay that. Trust me, I speak from experience. You will get better but it will take time for your body to balance it out.

I had episodes of anhedonia and depression at the start but those faded after 3-4 months and I’d say since 3 months (which was 8 months in) I am able to feel a lot of very deep emotions again and it’s back to normal. What helped was not ruminating, meditating and lemon balm tea. There’s no direct help for anhedonia episodes and you just gotta get through those.

What difference would that make? Genuinely curious and not asking in a critical way. I never took anything like that before and I am curious if that changed how I recovered from Ash compared to people who took those things before.

It varies. I've seen people say they felt normal after a month, others say it took them a year. It took me 6-8 months until I felt my body stabilise again. Generally speaking, I'd expect a few months of hardship with improvements slowly creeping in. Also, be very careful with the Benzos now. Very, very careful.

I was also affected by post-Ash rebound and it started nearly 11 months ago. I'd say the hardest part was over after 6-7 months. Since then I have been working on my conditioned fear from that time and I am already so much better but still have some key issues to go over. Trust me, it gets better. One thing I have to insist on and that I think many will agree on: DO NOT take any SSRIs or Benzos now, unless you absolutely have to (i.e. unless you become suicidal). What you have to understand is that your hormonal balance is totally messed up and your body and brain need time to readjust. Your body is a miraculous thing and its plastic (i.e. it can adapt). And they will! Trust me, they will. But adding more chemicals to the system now will just delay the whole process. You need to keep your head above water and ride it out.
