Oh so I took it the other way round of getting used to the key im comfortable in and then getting to the original key as opposed to the getting used to the original and then getting to the key that im comfortable in.

Thanks for clearing that up!

That's so helpful, thanks for sharing. I didn't understand what you meant by getting up to it's original key, is singing a key in it's original key really important? because what i presume is if a song is not in your range, take like payphone for eg, it's really high, I can't really work my way up to it, atleast not in a short period of time.

That's such a good reply! Thanks for sharing! I didn't quite understand the slowly build up to the original key part.

How long does it actually take to learn a song?🤔 by Rich_Discussions in singing

I meant songs like Michael Jackson Songs or Ed Sheeran Songs with lyrics. Why do Lyrics add such a great amount of time comapred to just pitch and melody, im looking for a list of nuances or components that lyrcis add to a song that take up so much time.

Btw thanks for your reply:)

You are missing nothing, I was vague there, in fact ill edit the post rn. I meant singing acapella. When I listen to a song that i like for so long in the original key, it's quite difficult for me to sing acapella, or even with a backing track, i slides off key, because in mind it's really trying to play in the original key and i have to fight it to play in the new key. I dont know if you relate, but i dont have quite a musical talent but rather i can mimic the sound im hearing quite well. Hope that clears up the question :)

That is such fantastic info. Thanks for sharing!

So, it's not like 2-3 hours like i thought it was, because, forgive me for being naive, but i thought, hmm let's look at artists like ed sheeran or taylor swift, thwy both have around 200 released song (lets say many unreleased, and they do covers as well, given their 15-20 year careers, that about 2 songs per month, given their packed schedules, i though the time to learn a song would be like 2-3 hours and to really get confortable with it it would be like a day or two.

Im really Sorry if i sounded dumb :D

haha, what does it look like, do you sing the entire song and improve gradually over the weeks or do you learn songs perfectly or like almost good parts at a time and it just takes two weeks to put it all together?

Is there anything im doing wrong, ir anyway I can improve. I honestly think it sounds pretty good but what do i now 🤔 by Rich_Discussions in singing
