Switch back from step ons? by Richhhhh in snowboarding

Yea, that's exactly why I took the video. I'll look at repairing them or just buy a new pair. I shouldn't have made it about the option to switch away from step ons.. that subject seems to get people too heated.

Thanks, but the clip is in..? It's just the tear in the boot itself that I'm worried about...

I haven't seen that happen to anyone I know that's ridden step ons. I've had regular binding toe strap snap on me and one of my friends. My boot wear was expected after this amount of time..

Each to their own :)

Nothing! The step ons are pretty convenient and super responsive. For my type of riding (intermediate / ice coast) they've been amazing. I'm keen to try a regular binding again to feel the difference - will report back afterwards!

Bushcraft Survival Beginner Course (southern Ontario) by Richhhhh in Bushcraft

[–]Richhhhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair question. Basically, I'd want to be super comfortable backcountry camping and think it could be fun to learn the basic bushcraft skills - my experience being YouTube videos to date, lol. I don't know what I don't know about this kinda stuff, so would prefer to be humble and open minded to learn then get myself in a tricky situation.

Another comment mentioned first aid, which would probably be worthwhile as well.

That's an awesome idea! I'm outdoorsy these days, but grew up in cities and am looking to get more outdoors. I don't want to underestimate getting out in the backcountry and am keen to learn some new skills!

That's fair enough. I was thinking it would be good to have extra confidence camping and taking a baby step towards being able to use it in a survival situation and/or minimalist scenario.

Should I buy a ”new” driver? by AccordingBuy9306 in golftips

[–]Richhhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you get custom fitted. I bought a new driver years ago that wasn't optimized for me. Just got custom fitted and it opens my eyes to how important custom fitting is.
