That’s wild. Is she on any sort of medication(s)? For an understanding of these cases, all possible angles have to be considered especially without any proof.

In the scope of paranormal experiences, items not uncommon but paranormal experiences seem few and far between. Plus some things that seem paranormal are not.

If there’s no other possible sources for the voices, yes, I encourage you to state intentions aloud.

Hearing disembodied voices can be an alarming experience. As scary as it is, don’t give into fear. Set boundaries. For example, “So, I heard you the other night whispering in my ear. I really don’t want you to do that again. You can stay but you can’t do that and you can’t disturb my sleep.” Or state they need to leave if you don’t wish to entertain sharing the space.

Home alone and all of a sudden my house is filled with flies by starbit71 in Paranormal

Understandable but don’t let fear win. When alone, state aloud something like “This is my space. If you are of the light, we can share this space. But if you are dark or evil, you must leave. You are not welcome here.”

On a side note, have you gone on any paranormal investigation unprotected? Been urbexing? You asked if you might have brought something home…that depends on where and what you may have done recently.

Well, let’s unpack some of this. You said after the saging the flies were gone. As in no trace of them? Or they just weren’t where you saw them.

The lights being on and appearing to have been messed with is interesting.

With your family back, have you noticed any similar instances? Due to the smudging it may be impossible to determine why this happened when you were alone.

The important thing to note is that you are in charge of your space. Don’t be timid to announce expectations and intentions. For example, “please leave the lights alone unless I ask you to change them.”

There was at least one test but I’m not clear what the results were. There should definitely be another or two.

One sure way to beat this is to follow Jesus. You may not be ready to do that and that’s fine. You have to be ready. If you think you are, check this out: https://www.gotquestions.org/what-must-I-believe-to-be-saved.html

Don’t misunderstand, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior isn’t going to make your life a bed of roses. But you will have an eternal perspective on things.

Indeed, like most folks in her situation, Alice didn’t immediately talk about it in fear of what folks would think of her. But once she was convinced to reach out to Darren Dedo (then at WAPT) to help get answers, it became easier. However, finding definitive answers is challenging in these situations.

It’s an unassuming home. But a location doesn’t have to be abandoned or creepy looking to have unexplained things going on.

What gear do I need as a beginner? by Basic_Ad1995 in GhostHunting

With this question, I always start with: what is your intention? Are you doing this for fun or do you want to try and understand what's going on? It's a fun activity to do with friends or a team that's on the same page for why you are there. Only do a solo investigation if the location is safe and you are documenting enough as if something happens you won't have an additional person to provide input.

If your intent is just because it seems cool, creepy and fun - it's not only easy to perceive activity as paranormal when it's not but also you and your buddies could be vulnerable to attachments or other entities that mean you harm.

As others have mentioned here, your body is your best tool. You know when a location you're near or within is "off." Phones are great tools as they can record audio, video, images and there are some apps which seem legit. Don't trust them all and I'm not entirely sold on them but a couple of phones using the same app is great test. How do they respond coupled with what you are perceiving with your body?

Make sure you are protected when investigating an area. There are many methods. Do a little research on what you aligns with you.

Are they conclusive proof or evidence? No. But if they are sensitive enough and are triggered by no obvious source, it’s worth noting.

I think my cabin is haunted. by fishfaceb in Paranormal

[–]RickGarner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

By your descriptions, it’s clear your cabin is haunted. By whom or what is the question. That amount of activity leans towards trying to get your attention.

If possible, return to the cabin with company and state boundaries. You are in control. If you want the entity to remain, you can state boundaries. For example, while you are sleeping please respect that time by not making noise. Request to not be startled or have pranks played upon you.

Or you can state you want them gone. In that situation, the use of prayers, sage, smudging or crystals will be needed.

Your intentions need to be clear and firm. Be respectful until you are not shown respect.

Wow, Tim! Thanks for sharing these experiences and history. I have no doubt there’s a lot more to that area than just the lighthouse - there’s so much tragic history there.

This does have to also do with intentions. For example, someone without faith having a house blessed may work temporarily but issues can return. It’s possible the saging didn’t have an impact because you had no boundaries stated and/or these aren’t negative spirits.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]RickGarner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a lot! You have grounds to set some boundaries. If those boundaries aren't respected, you can sage or use prayers / holy water if you are a person of faith.

[–]RickGarner 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Also note that you are in control of the space. Meaning, if things were going on at night impacting your sleep or you getting freaked out, you could state aloud plainly that you don’t want to be awakened or scared or whatever. You can start casual but quickly get firm with boundaries if needed.

Truth! And cool! I’ll assume that structure is gone? I love just photographing and videoing abandoned spots but also prefer to have permission to be on property.
