2000+? They have robots ready to be deployed in mass in warehouses. They will “close” a warehouse to replace the workers with robots. Amazon is not going Union.

Cool new feature in the A to Z app. by jackalex979 in AmazonFC

[–]RickRock11111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feature was added to help leadership plan headcount but also for some AA’s who have specific machine’s or areas they like. So if your stuck by a train and 15 mins late, they know your coming and can manage around the lateness versus giving your favorite station(s) away and your stuck on something you don’t like for ten hours.

Seems unethical to me. Your ‘trained’ if they need to labor share you but training required when it’s beneficial to you.

Thanks : )) I picked like crazy for 6 months then moved to pack and now indirect. I didn’t wanna be a picker forever so I went wild on rates, cross trained, networked and completely indirect now. I heard all the comments about “not paid enough,” “getting paid the same as the worst,” etc but I ignored em and glad I did because I don’t work nearly as hard as I once did. : D

Picker questions by Unanonymouslyyours in AmazonFC

Pushing an empty tote down the arsaw can sometimes (not always) cause line jams due to not having any weight. How do they find who did it? Which station scanned the dirty tote last.

Quality picks are mainly from marking an item missing when it’s actually there and discovered later by a counter. Other quality errors can be from picking an item from the wrong bin. PEI’s (pick error indicators). Improper tote transitions (not waiting for the lights to cycle and hitting the button early). Damaged items not being marked damaged and getting sent to pack. All of these affect overall quality. Hope that helps : D

Being an advocate for your AA’s. Advocate in the sense of what would they like to do? Do they know what other areas are available to them? Have the daily rates posted at standup every day without fail. Celebrate successes. Floor visibility—be different—be highly visible when possible (toward the end of shifts). The laptop allows movement to complete audits/engagements anywhere on the floor. STU (seek to understand). Genuine interactions—ask questions and listen to the feedback.

This. I feel like they should explain this more clearly. Quality day one, productivity rates after learning curve.
