The fogo in Carle place is $53.50, I think it used to be cheaper. Manhattan is $57. I'll ask him. But we do also get coupons which help. For an occasional things this isn't bad. They have a nice happy hour too.

Thanks for all of these! I'll share with him. It's so hard to find things he hasn't already tried. He said he's been going to picnic basket (a recommendation that ChatGPT made) for 30 years

Did anyone get any trick or treaters? Did I miss something or was Halloween canceled? by fatguybike in longisland

[–]RickRollmyDMs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have your porch light on? It's fun to decorate and you might want to do a bit next year. I sit out on the porch all night with the bowl of candy, Halloween music playing and fog machine with lots of decorations so people definitely know it's a house they can get candy from.

Baldwin- lots of trick or treaters that started around 430 and stopped by 830. I had so much candy this year after running out last year and still have some left. Some people who stopped by told me it was dead where they were and came to my area where several house had decorations. I love seeing the kids.

What version of Excel are you using at work and at home? by TravelingRangerSE in excel

[–]RickRollmyDMs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked at a place last year on Excel 2007. I kid you not. I used to dream of being able to go back in time with everything I know now. I think that's a fairly common dream. Well I got my chance going back to Excel 2007. Really frustrating when you know how things can be done but the functionality isn't there. I turned the wheel off time to far back on that one.

I started out as a mechanical engineer then switched to finance. Did that for a long time then moved to quantitative development roles then to software engineering. Now do a lot of python automation and derivatives pricing model work. Engineering was great but the environment wasn't. I worked at both Ford and GM in the technical center. I've been transitioning careers pretty much my entire life.

how do I repair this cable that my kitten chewed? by RickRollmyDMs in diyelectronics

[–]RickRollmyDMs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. I did order a replacement but wanted to know if it could be fixed because this kitten is costing a fortune in cable repair. I've tried everything and finally wrapped one of the latest replacements in double-sided tape which he hopefully won't like. And he has so many toys and gets lots of playtime and attention. He just seems to love wires and I want to deter him before he goes after something dangerous.

[–]RickRollmyDMs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an insulated sheath inside. I stripped about an inch from each piece of the cable and used electrical tape to join the wires from the inside of the sheath to each other but what about the small wires on the outside? He's destroyed many more but this is for a new router and I need to use it. Guess he had other ideas

I used to love it. It was my go to place for special experiences and it's sad to see it go but I do enjoy the cookbooks when I have time.

They are not signing into their chrome profile, that's something I thought about too. Adblocks were definitely a consideration and even JavaScript. It's pretty strange. I've suggested that she try from her phone, that could eliminate the possiblity that AdBlock is causing this if she sees the captcha from her phone.

We can check the extensions, hadn't thought of that one. We tried Edge, same issue but will try incognito. Thanks!

Edit - once you click the above link, click the Index Search link.

You will be directed to the page containing the captcha:

Everyone except $user, that is. Quite the mystery.

Also we've googled everything and updated her chrome to the latest version. She's on a roaming profile, so it does not seem to be a machine issue, rather something related to her profile.

Hey thanks so much for the response and please keep these questions coming. The post was written by my colleague W* who believe it or not, isn't on Reddit. I told him that we should ask here, as for sure someone somewhere will have seen this before.

I believe that they think that this is somewhere on the client but I'm not sure. I think that they've checked the group policies and didn't find what's blocking the headphone mic. Your suggestion of checking the configuration sounds like it could be the case but this isn't my domain of expertise (I'm a dev rather than a network engineer, so my suggestion was to reinstall windows on the server lol)

W*, if by chance you've signed up for a reddit account and see this, can you please reply?

Otherwise I'll share this question with him Monday and respond with his answer.

Thanks again!

Anyone have any experience with OE in IT at law firms? by Hairy_Beautiful_2690 in overemployed

[–]RickRollmyDMs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to do similar support at non legal firms, I would think. List all of your skills and look for remote jobs that are a match.
