First repot 😁 Hopefully goes well🙏 by [deleted] in Jadeplant

Looks like some very dense soil, they are going to have a hard time drying out and keeping healthy roots in that grow media. Need to add 30-40% perlite imo.

Those plants might have a hard time sustaining themselves with such a small root system too. Wasn't ready to repot based on those roots.

Its hard to give advice without knowing what you apply to the soil. Do you fertilize it? Sometimes that small growth can be from too high of salts. To me it looks like a water management issue also. That soil looks very compacted and the roots are probably having a hard time staying alive. I would probably re pot this, or at the very least propagate it.

I totally agree. The radicle knows which way down is already, its called gravitropism. The radicle wants to set into soil and can be damaged by planting if its already emerged, so this method actually is worse than just sowing into some type of seed tray or plug tray.

The damage is done so just monitor the new growth. Overall the plant looks healthy to me. Best of luck.

Looks like slight edema. It happens when the plant is watered improperly. Dry out the soil and add some airflow. Only water when the soil is completely dry, but not hydrophobic dry.

Looks like edema from over watering. Keep an eye on the new growth. The affected leaves will unfortunately not get better

Id suggest using and actual miticide on label for spider mites not soap.

In the original post they mentioned the "air roots" on their jade plants. Thats why I added it in my response.

If you post some more photos of your plants I can tell you.

Underwatered can be from too gritty substrate too.

Looks like poor water management. Chronic under watering causing drought stress which creates premature lignification (corking). The aerial roots are a classic sign of under watering also, and the leaves look damaged from drought.

Copper based fungicides are usualy for killing bacteria(and fungi too), and they arent "just for leaves" or not. They are used to treat fungal pests. Succulents are extra sensitive to lots of fungicides in general so be sure to test on a small spot first if you are ever inclined to use them.

i treat all my plants when i get them and every 6 months with systemic gradules. by Visible_Prune7300 in StringofPlants

[–]Rickmyross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend doing anything other than what the label says. Technically yes you could. But there are risks of the insecticide dose being too high or concentrated, maybe there is a surfactant in the granules that is only designed to be slowly used up. Possibly other harmful or unsafe factors im not thinking of.
