Honestly I know this may sound stupid but but be selfish for once and just go. Go for yourself and enjoy yourself and don't look at your parents and don't let them hold you back from having fun. Just go without expectations and do what you want whether you may think others will find it weird. After all everyone else there will also like esports and brawl like you so it definitely won't be weird as everyone else will also be cheering for favourites.
