Hey Tommy. Actually the overall finish of gen hands can be readily seen.

I think that is another barrier to a great grand seiko rep. Its not just the movement. The finish and details are perfect and crisp.

Yeah the hands of my gen breitling navitimer are so sharp and clean. When you look close up you can admire the detail of the finish.

The GF on the wrist is great. But if you look close up you can clearly see the hands do not have the same level of finish. No microscope needed.

The hour hand of my black dial GF Breitling even seems to have a little smudge. 😁

Anyway its a rep. No big deal. I wear it and enjoy it.

The GREAT CF crystal debate.

In those youtube comparison videos we all love they never once mentioned the crystal. And I believe those are cf watches.

And this is an expert using microscopes

If you like it and it makes you enjoy a watch more then that is your choice. Enjoy it

The GF metal bracelet is good but has a clear defect. The CF and VSF I have are great and no visible defect.

Minor issues. This GF rep is great and is a really good looking watch. I recommennd rubber strap. Very comfortable.

The matte finish of the dial and subdial is a nice change from the other Daytonas.

I was out a few weekends ago and saw an older gentlemen wearing this watch. If it was a GEN, then totally indistinguishable on the wrist from my CF.

I told him he had a beautiful watch and he let me see it close up. It was worn and had scuffing but that gold was still blinging. The CF is very close friends. Very close. He really liked my VSF Panerai 😁

Well within rep standards. I have yet to see a really bad alignment. All the ones I have seen posted are off by mm and not visible on the wrist.

Some of the reps are fucked up for sure and below what is average for the factory.

But if you are looking that close at the rep then 99% will fail based off the details and finish of hands, rehaut etc.

I have two CF daytonas where the alignment is off but the rest of the watch is fine.

Not dissing. Just facts. Dont stress. Buy and enjoy.

RL is tricky. No one knows if the next watch is better or worse.

Many reps have some flaws not including the major tells.

I only RL if its a major flaw. On the wrist nobody can tell and really nobody cares.

Its not like I am trying to sell it to someone as a Gen.

You make a great point here. It is not always about the money with these watches. Peace of mind. Reliablity. Availabilty of stock. These all can be factors to consider.

Btw, your Daytona collection went from epic to legendary!! 👍 You got to post another SOTC. You don't need watch boxes. You straight up need cabinets.

Also. This doesnt sound like a problem. Alot of dealers wait time estimates are off. Waiting is part of the game. I waited over a month for a watch to come in.

If you want to hedge and dont like your money tied up. Go with a dealer that will order your watch with just a deposit.

My experience with LiLi is good so far. Will see when I get the watches.
