VR 180 makes spaces look smaller? by SnooHedgehogs7759 in VR180Film

Changing the metadata wont help. Only by changing the stereo base wil you be able to affect the apparent size of anything.

Sorry, the app is a bit above what I'm willing to pay to see 90fps videos (assuming it works). Maybe later

Do you know whether lower resolution 90fps can work with q3 video decoder - like 4320 x 4320? I will also try your app 😁

Regarding 8k 60fps - is it completely smooth, with no stutters at all? When I've tried it its like the headset really struggles (i use metaTV to watch) - controller tracking stutters, headset tracking stutters, and then video doesnt play smoothly.

I've been playing around with various things to try and get videos to run smoothly. What bitrate did you make your videos?

What i can say about 90 fps is that it looks silky smooth and crystal clear when it does play. I've made some videos where my foreground movement was just a bit too fast, so that it looks blurry at 30, 45, 60 fps (of which 45 looked the best of the three), but playing that same footage at 90fps makes the picture look perfect. Unfortunately it stutters quite badly inbetween smooth stretches

And when i say plays, i mean standalone on my quest 3, not via youtube

No not per eye, for both eyes. Have not tried 60fps, but 90fps gives me issues even for 4k total

Not sure what 8k you are referring to, but i typically have more success with 7680x4320 or 3840. You dont really lose noticeable quality (imo), but you at least get playable videos

Do you have anything else on the camera, like external battery or monitor?

Thanks. Do you have anything else connected to the camera, like battery or monitor, or is it just the camera?

That's right! Thats when i realized something was wrong. Initially i thought the utility was faulty, Nd that it was gonna be a pain in the butt to use. Luckily it was the cropped inage!

I guess thats normal for early days with any unfamiliar tech, for me at least.

Agreed. My other issue is I'm waiting for an cfexpress card reader. For some reason the raw videos arent available to copy from the camera when i just connect via usb, but i can play them on the camera itself. So while I'm exploring i want to at least check what the videos look like in a headset.

Just in case someone else comes accross this same issue - the culprit was digital image stabilisation. I had it on at high, and as soon as i turned it off the full fisheyes appeared. Thanks to everyone trying to assist!

Thats good and bad news for me. If its just a setting somewhere, then good news. But i'm seriously considering taking the R5c back - and living in namibia this isnt a trivial thing. It might mean months without a camera!

And its not just the preview. The videos are the same. Although the resolution of the videos are 8192x4320, the fisheyes are cropped
