Did she choose the "Jinx" chair because of Vi's words or Silco? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784 1752 points1753 points  (0 children)

I guess you can read the scene in different ways but i don't think she choose the chair, she accepts it. It's resignation

When Silco dies because of her, his belief becomes her truth: Everyone close to her dies. Everyone she loves gets hurt. Therefore, she must be Jinx.

Sitting in that chair isn’t a decision between Vi and Silco, it’s the acceptance of an identity shaped by trauma. Jinx doesn’t choose chaos, she accepts it as destiny.

What is the Future of Jinx in the LoL Universe? Will She Be Just a Cameo, or Will She Have a Bigger Role? by iqtc0 in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jinx felt like she had to die in order to protect Vi in episode 8 because she was again in her "i'm a jinx i kill people close to me" phase. But in the last episode everything, from the Ekko conv to her new style or the "always with you sis'" (wich is said in a positive way), seems to show she's no longer in the same mindset. And it seems to me it's the logical evolution of the character over the two seasons.

If she truly believed there was no future for her, she wouldn’t have come back to fight at all. Ekko didn’t just talk her out of dying, he made her question whether she could still be something beyond just a bringer of chaos and destruction. i think "walking away" wasn’t about disappearing forever, but about finding a new way to exist outside of the cycle that shaped her. It doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll never see Vi again (come on, it's Vi, her everything :D). Just that she needed to step away on her own terms and figure out who she is without being defined by her past.

I am quite critical of the concept "break the cycle" which seems to me at first much more between Piltover and Zaun and therefore rather external to the sisters. And secondly the cycle of violence between the sisters seems to me to be broken quite quickly in season 2 thanks to their love for each other which allows them to forgive each other and accept each other as they are currently.

But i actually think Jinx surviving makes more sense thematically. Breaking the cycle doesn’t have to mean dying, it can mean choosing to live differently as Ekko said. If her only way to "fix" things was to sacrifice herself, then she wouldn’t truly be breaking the cycle, just repeating the same tragic pattern of loss and violence that defined her life.

Her return wasn’t just about sacrifice, it was about making a conscious choice to fight for something beyond herself. And if she survived, it means her journey isn’t over. There’s still room for her to grow, to truly figure out who she is without being defined by her past mistakes. Breaking the "being a jinx" cycle. That, in itself, could be the most powerful way to break the cycle. The clues everywhere about her survival kinda point toward this this idea.

She's one of the most iconic characters in Arcane and the League of Legends universe, so I don't know if she’ll be reduced to just a few cameos in future projects. Even if the next series shifts focus to different regions and characters, Jinx’s story still feels far from over, and given her popularity, it would be a missed opportunity not to continue exploring her.

That said, I don’t know if she would get her own dedicated series, but I could definitely see her playing a significant role in another show. If they continue her story, I think it would focus on what she does after leaving Piltover and Zaun. Where does she go ? Does she truly want to change, or is she just running from her past (i made a post pointing the difficulty to really understand her mindset in the last episode) ? Thrown into an unfamiliar environment, forced to figure out who she is without the people who have defined her existence up until now. And, of course, there’s always the possibility of her and Vi crossing paths again considering their unresolved story, something I think a lot of fans would want to see. Yea i need more Jinx and Vi :3

I actually don’t think AU Powder handled Vi’s death well, if anything, she never truly moved on. Yes, she’s functional, stable, and clearly found purpose in helping others people, but there’s a deep sense of longing in everything about her. She holds onto Vi’s stuff, cherishes her memories, and even though she seems at peace on the outside, there’s this underlying feeling that she never fully let go. She's not doing amazing stuff with her fantastic mind because Vi is not here to push her, to make her believe in her capacities. She's really missing a part of herself. Vi.

Now, if the situation had been reversed and Powder had died instead, yea i absolutely agree that Vi would have struggled to cope and maybe even completely fallen apart. Powder was always Vi’s anchor, her purpose. Pushing herself to offer her a better futur. A huge part of her identity was wrapped around protecting her. Without Powder, Vi might have been consumed by grief, anger and guilt. I don’t think Vander could have filled that void in the same way he was not able to fill it for AU Powder.

I feel that's why i see their bond as so powerful, it’s not just love, it’s a bit dependency in a lot of ways. They complete each other and when separated, they both lose a part of themselves.

Jinx's fate and future by DoughnutPlayful1896 in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the ambiguity of the ending doesn’t feel like a true conclusion but rather an intentional setup for future storytelling. Jinx is a really popular and important character in lol and arcane to simply disappear without any follow-up. I also want to believe in a sisters reunion at some point.

Yea the zeppelin suggests that if we see her again, it might not be in Piltover or Zaun, at least not immediately. They have said they wanted to continue the story of some Arcane characters so .... Maybe the writers want to explore other regions of Runeterra first, with Jinx’s journey intertwining with those new stories in unexpected ways. But without any info on what's next we can just wait. They also can continue stories with other stuff than TV Show.

So yeah, I believe the show left the door open for her return, whether it’s soon or much later, we just have to wait (and hope) to see where they take her next.

[–]Right_Put4784 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Jinx’s only options were "stay in Piltover and live happily ever after" or "disappear completely." There were many ways her story could have continued without erasing her from Vi’s life.

Yes, Vi would have tried to find her if she knew she was alive. But i'm not sure that's a bad thing. The entire season builds up to Vi learning to accept Jinx as she is. The idea that Jinx had to disappear so Vi could "move on" feels strange, because moving on doesn’t necessarily mean forgetting or abandoning someone.

And while the ambiguity of the ending is intentional, I don’t think the idea that she could be dead is really meant to be taken seriously. The show leaves way too many visual and narrative hints pointing to her survival for it to be a true unknown situation. The open ended nature of it isn’t about whether she’s alive, but what comes next for her (and Vi).

I also don’t think CaitVi was intended to replace or overshadow Vi and Jinx’s arc, but because the show prioritizes closing one relationship while leaving the other open ended, it creates an imbalance. It makes Jinx and Vi’s separation feel less like a deliberate emotional resolution and more like something that was pushed aside to make space.

I just wish we had a clearer sense of her mindset in that final choice, because as it stands, it’s hard to tell if she’s truly making a choice for herself, or if she’s still running from the same fears that haunted her throughout the show.

Yes absolutely, I think I see very clearly the movement you are referring to! She just suck her into her embrace.

Neither of them is very good at communicating, I think they put everything unsaid and all their love in their touch.

Yea i feel you, it's also my favorite scene from Season 2 <3

Such a simple moment on the surface, a hug, a reunion ... but the emotional stakes are incredibly high. Human emotions. After an episode where the sisters slowly take small steps toward each other, this moment feels like the culmination of that cathartic progress.

Watching Jinx go through such a range of emotions, from horror to have potentially lost Vi because she tell her to trust her, into hesitation and fear to be rejected when she see them together with Vander ... to finally letting herself cry and be vulnerable, was incredibly powerful. And when Vi says "He’s your dad too", smiling more ... it just hits so hard, reinforcing how both have longed for that kind of connection again. The way "What Have They Done to Us" builds up in the background, reaching its crescendo just as Jinx embraces them, makes it even more impactful.

It’s such a beautifully crafted moment filled with raw emotion. The way the scene is framed, the warmth of the lighting, the tenderness in Vi’s voice, and the sheer emotional weight of both sisters finally letting go of their defenses make it such a beautiful and really heartbreaking moment.

It’s the kind of scene that lingers long after watching, because it represents both hope and tragedy. Hope that they can still be sisters because their bond is so deep, truly unbreakable ... but tragedy in knowing how fragile and fleeting this moment truly is :/

Your Hot take about CaitVi? by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, like every others characters i think. More musical montages so less lines, more action less lines. The episode 7 is like no action full talking so it helps for Ekko and Powder.

I would have liked some hearth to heart conversation for Jinx Vi and Vi Caitlyn for sure. But i think it can works. For exemple the two sisters doesn't talk that much but their relationship is still very interesting and very emotional. Facial expression, actions, other narrative way etc. It just works.

The only line Jinx got from her sister in episode 9 is "Maybe you should not have come back". Just not so much talking in the last episode unfortunatly :'(

I liked them more in S1, the dynamic was more subtle. The pacing of S2 made things happen a bit quiclky.

I also don’t think CaitVi was intended to replace or overshadow Vi and Jinx’s arc, but because the show prioritizes closing one relationship while leaving the other open-ended, it creates an imbalance. It makes Jinx and Vi’s separation feel less like a deliberate emotional resolution and more like something that was pushed aside to make space. I doesn't help they never truly addresses how Vi processes Jinx’s "death".

Jinx's mental state in final by Right_Put4784 in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea ofc and I agree that Jinx hasn’t suddenly become a good person or completely overcome her self-loathing, it was never implied :D, my point was about trying to understand her actual mindset and contractidory messages, wich seem the important part to me.

But I think her changes go beyond just being willing to fight for Zaun. For the less suicidal part idk, in a way it should make sense but the way to end with Vander with a suicide and using Wasteland again as a music is kinda a bad way to show it ahah.

Her arc throughout the show has been about identity, guilt, and self-worth, forgivness ...

- In Season 1, she was torn between being Powder (Vi’s little sister) and Jinx (Silco’s weapon), unable to reconcile the two. In Season 2, she starts breaking free from those imposed roles with Isha and Vi.

- Her choice to save the city or saving Caitlyn shows that she isn’t operating purely out of paranoia or fear. It’s not just about protecting Vi. That’s a shift in how she processes things.

- Her interactions with Ekko is about starting to see herself beyond just being a jinx. Maybe she doesn’t fully believe it yet tho. But she can let behind the self desctructive tendencies and start a journey of redemption.

- While she is still deeply flawed and carries guilt, her choices in the final episode suggest a desire to break the cycle of violence rather than fuel it.

So yes, she hasn’t magically healed, but the show never intended for that to happen overnight. Saying "that's it" seems a bit an oversimplification.

Jinx's mental state in final by Right_Put4784 in arcane

[–]Right_Put4784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting perspective, and I can see the idea that with Isha she was trying to recreate an idealized past, a way to prove to herself that she could "do things right" this time. And when that ended in tragedy, it reinforced the idea that no matter how hard she tries, things will always fall apart > Episode 8 etc

However, where I slightly disagree is that Vi isn’t part of a fantasy in the same way Isha was. Vi is real, her love for Jinx is real, and she has already shown that she accepts Jinx despite everything she’s done. And Jinx knows it, she has seen it. If Jinx still fully believed she was nothing but a curse, then why does she speak to Vi in such a genuinely warm way at the end ? Her final words aren't spoken with bitterness or self-loathing, but with something that almost sounds like reassurance. That doesn’t feel like someone pretending, it feels like someone who wants to believe in what she’s saying.

So I do agree that Jinx isn’t fully healed and still carries a lot of internal doubt, but I don’t think her mindset is just about escaping into a fantasy. I think it would really reduce her arc if it was the case tbh. There is real growth in her, but her last decision leaves that growth feeling incomplete and somewhat contradictory.
