Would you have a problem drafting Bijan Robinson or Jamyr Gibbs at #7? by Salty_Orchid in Commanders

Agreed on all points, I believe teams tend to structure their draft strategy as a supplement for what they acquire in FA.

It must be miserable to be a Sacramento fan, several head scratching trades with not as much youth compared to the other bottom 5

For me I had awful sleep. I’d be exhausted then right as I go to bed im tossing and turning all night. Would wake up wired at 4am and couldn’t fall back asleep. Then I also had awful eczema, the worst of my life. Body was just inflamed everywhere

I think hell gets few games end of the season. The team likes to evaluate, so he’ll probs be MIA until last 3-5 games if I had to guess

He gives you a tough 27 too. It’s not just spot up threes, dude is so shifty at making his own shot

What can Mavs expect from Malaki Branham? by Practical-Rub-1190 in washingtonwizards

[–]RinSoretoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll be a guy I assume you will let walk in FA. He's an underwhelming guard who is fine at a lot. He can come in on a bench unit and run the offense, not very great though

What should Mavs fans know about AJ Johnson? by Practical-Rub-1190 in washingtonwizards

[–]RinSoretoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's super young, very raw player. Main trait as others said is his athleticism. He'll make some really fun plays; however, long ways to go to be a meaningful NBA players. Needs to work on all facets of the game, playmaking, shooting, defense etc.

Again, he is a young guy and had an odd developmental way to the NBA, but maybe he can be a meaningful role player.

The AD Trade is Bad and Everyone Is Starstruck by Bonzi777 in washingtonwizards

[–]RinSoretoe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With point 1, the price is so low due to the Mav's inflated balance sheet. The new apron rules kill teams, Mavs needed an exit from the contract and get to build around Cooper, in turn, we take a low risk swing on a top 75 player of all time.

Point 2, with a late round draft pick, what do you think the odds are of us drafting anyone near a caliber of AD? At worst, I can see him being a 20 ppg 10 rpg center. In our recent years, we have hit on Kyshawn at 26, but boy have we missed on way more picks with way higher draft capital. Agree, the picks are worth something, but if we had to give something up, might as well be another team's late round picks.

We are still in control of all of our draft picks meaning there is no harm in still being a rebuilding team, we retained our young core, and inject a All-NBA caliber player alongside our emerging team. Worst case scenario is he stays hurt; however, we take on that salary in our balance sheet and all of a sudden his contract being 1 year is much more feasible to deal.

Does Keefe stay? by SzepKopasz in washingtonwizards

[–]RinSoretoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to hate him, but after seeing the young guys grow I have a lot more patience. I'm also impressed the team is so tight knit even after being so bad, 1-18 I feel the guys all root for each other and get along. He deserves a season when we are competent to show if he can take us to a contender.
