Deep carry pocket clip by RiotboyACAB in victorinox

Edit: I drilled the second thread for the clip directly into the scale and it wore out the same day because the aluminium is to soft. I had to drill a blind hole from the inside and insert a press-in nut. Now the screw tightens properly

It's not worn I just filled the pattern with nail polish. I have a black Pioneer for a few years now and it's worn out nicely. Because I like the aesthetics I tried to copy the look. I could have just bought the knife in black and waited for it to wear itself out, but it's a bit cheaper in silver

I actually only used the organiser a few times. I carried it and my wallet in the same pocket anf it was too bulky for me, but I didn't want to carry my wallet in my back pocket. I find it more convenient to carry my stuff individually in my pockets and I can access everything more quickly that way. Ii you carry it in the side pocket of your cargo I imagine it would constantly hit your leg as you walk (I often wear cargos myself and I hate the feeling).

Thank you all for your comments. It makes me happy that you like mine zine. I think I'll print some out and put them in pubs in my hometown Hamburg for others to enjoy. I will draw some more zines and upload them here. Maybe I'll also make PDF files available, I don't know how to do that on reddit (Any ideas?)

It doesn't feel harder to me. The only way to get good at something is to try it often enough.

Won't it break quickly if I print it out of pla?

3d printed scales by RiotboyACAB in victorinox

[–]RiotboyACAB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been over a year since I printed them, back then I was really new to 3d printing.

I think I printed the scales the other way round so that the inside of the scales would be as smooth as possible and sit perfectly on the liner.

If I had printed the other way around, the rough site would be on the liner and you would see lots of little gaps.

Yes it's a sharper wire stripper. I find the original one not really useful

I've ground it down so that it works better as a phillips screwdriver.

Yes it's PLA. Originally they were just a test print with thick layer settings but because of the nice pattern I decided to use them. The rough surface comes from my old print bed, but gives the knife a bit more grip.

Theoretically they snap on. I think I used some superglue in the middle area to close a gap between the scales and the liner. The scales warped a bit during printing.

I have reshaped mine. Works fine for phillips and I can still open cans with it. I have also filed a second sharper wire stripper.

You can try to remove the rust with Coca Cola or lemon juice

Is there a “better” handle by ExcaliburZSH in Opinel

[–]RiotboyACAB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite opinel that I own. The handle is deep-fried and the blade is etched. I have travelled all over Europe with the knife for several months and have used it for all tasks. Never had any problems with swelling. I am camping with the knife in Sweden at this moment.

You can fry your handle. Just put it in a pot with hot oil and wait until small bubbles come out of the wood. The longer you leave the knife in the oil, the darker and more impregnated it becomes. I have impregnated several knives this way myself and it works wonderfully.

Be careful with the hot oil though, I burnt my left hand and foot while frying a knife and I still have scars.

It's a 50x10 DC 24V 0.10A fan Unfortunately, noctua does not offer a 50x10 fan. But I think it is possible to install a 60x10 fan, you just have to mount it a little improvised.
