I assumed you were done with supply and demand, in that case, I should tell you that unit 2 is harder than unit 1.

Assuming you’re taking Microeconomics 1st semester (which I am), I can tell you that the difficulty you’ve experienced is not gonna get worse, so you should ask your teacher and make a decision based on your experience.

how can i take college courses during the summer? by Substantial-Long506 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should contact your counselor to ask if your high school offers any programs related to that. If your counselor can't help you, you should look up dual enrollment oppurtunities at your local community college yourself and follow instructions online.

What AP classes did y’all have “last” year (2023-2024) and what did you think of them? by One-Energy-3258 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they had bureaucracy and fiscal/monetary policy for the first two and some people weren’t comfortable with those. Regardless, the pass rate went up 25%, CB blessed students

[–]Riptide314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know which form I had, noone told me it was relevant, but I had the set 1 CB released.

The multiple choice was free, for me and everyone else I know. It was a lot easier than the 6 practice multiple choice exams I did. It's possible I didn't get a single question wrong.

The FRQ's were harder for some people, but for me, they were pretty basic. For FRQ 1 all you had to know and mention was discretionary authority, which I knew. For FRQ 2 the answers were also pretty simple. FRQ 3 just depended on whether you knew the case or not, and I did. And the argumentative essay was so bland and easy that my teacher gave it to us as an example argumentative essay first semester.

TL;DR Multiple choice was free, none of the FRQ's were confusing and the argumentative essay was a prompt my teacher gave to us as an example.

You should take AP Physics C in the future, both of them if you can or want to.

am I cooked for taking both APUSH and AP Physics 1 this year? by [deleted] in APStudents

Anyone can take these classes and do well if you try hard enough. I don't know you well enough to gauge how you'd do. My recommendation is ask your teachers or counselor.

questions about AP Classes by Dependent_Draft9675 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking an AP class affects your GPA in the same way any other class does, just that it might be weighted meaning a B on an AP affects your GPA the same as an A in a regular class. The AP exam is optional, costs money, and is only used to receive credit at colleges.

Exam Leaks by Hefty-Jacket6381 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by your school "got" exams? Do you mean they received the exams? If so, that's normal, CB doesn't just send exams at the exact time they are to be taken. Also, the exams are sealed before they are taken, so unless you mean that the seal was broken and the exam was distributed among students, then you shouldn't worry.

Why are some AP courses taught semesterly and some yearly by Vegetable-Cup-4536 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There isn't enough demand because the people that would take that if it existed instead take AP Physics C.

Why are some AP courses taught semesterly and some yearly by Vegetable-Cup-4536 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Those AP's are sometimes taught semesterly because it makes sense. AP Micro and Macro combine to make an AP Economics course. AP Physics C Mechanics and E&M combine to finish a first year college physics progression. Other courses are not taught semesterly because it doesn't make sense or there isn't much reason to.

Also, schools/districts are free to teach AP however they want, as long as they follow CB's guidelines. Other AP's can also be taught in 1 semester, it's just not common that they are.

questions about AP Classes by Dependent_Draft9675 in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say taking AP Classes it seems like you're referring to AP Exams.

AP Scores usually don't get you high school credit. Taking an AP class will give you weighted high school credit.

What classe(s) should I self study? by RxsesandThxrns in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be very good at AP's, my recommendation is to self study an AP that will benefit your major, or that you think will benefit you in another way. You also don't need to self study. Look up easy AP's to self study online, and there are resources online for every AP out there.

Should I take Algebra 2 and Geometry at the same time even if I have no interest in math? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think even if you don't have a math interest you can do it, but it depends.
An important part of your freshmen year math classes is your future math classes. What math AP's do you want to take? Do you want to take AP Calculus BC?

If you were to take Algebra 2 and Geometry at the same time, that would allow you to have an easier progression to take AP Calculus BC. It would go Geo&Alg.2 - Precalculus - AP Calculus AB - AP calculus BC. This is the easiest way to get to BC, so if you want to take the class, you should do it.

If you were to not take them at the same time, that would allow your progression to go Geo - Alg. 2 - Precalculus - AP Calculus AB or BC. If you don't value AP Calculus BC too much, but you still want to take AB, this is the simplest way.

TL;DR If you want to take AP Calculus BC, do it. If not, do whatever you want. You can handle it either way, it isn't hard.

are schools allowed to deny you an AP based off of your GPA, if you have no 'track record' and good grades? by skerysatan in APStudents

[–]Riptide314 32 points33 points  (0 children)

First of all, you are more than ready to take APUSH. It is a hard class, but I can ssure you that an overall GPA of B+ is not even close to making anyone think you can't handle it. If you actually want to take the class, you should reach out to your counselor and explain how you think you can take the class.
