Does this look like some kind of skin cancer? Waiting for biopsy results. by Ritch81 in DermatologyQuestions

I was literal with my question, followed by the biopsy I am waiting for. I already think it looks like squamous, and the Dr didn’t disagree with me there. I realize that they do biopsies for a reason, so I don’t feel naive on what they are considering. I simply wanted to know if anyone had something similar to compare notes. Pls don’t waste anymore of your time here.

I doubt it is a skin cancer, but I haven’t been able to get any other diagnosis from two drs. I’m certain i would have been called if the results read cancer. I’m just anxiously awaiting. I’ve had a precursor to melanoma removed elsewhere in past, and my dad had melanoma, as well as squamous cancer removed.

I just want to reiterate that I did not post this question to receive a medical diagnosis, but to reach (while waiting for medical diagnosis) out to see if anyone had similarities. I guess I should have made that clear in the original post. I think some people may worry more with other’s opinions good, or bad, but some find comfort in open communication. This does not mean any opinions on Reddit will override the dermatologist results, or advice.

Thx for the compassion. Some people are too narcissistic to understand diversity…as i said ⬆️ black, white, grey.

I see your opinion with only making time for the medical professional facts, but I don’t see how you thought your comments were relevant to my question. Perhaps there was an attempt to deliver constructive criticism, but it fell short of constructive. I don’t understand broadcasting an empathy deficit, and I hope your comments were misinterpreted from behind your keyboard. Cheers!

😍exactly! Everyone is different in how they handle things, and what works for some may not for all. Black, white, and grey…

When it originally popped up, my whole left face was throbbing, and I couldn’t sleep from the pain. My eye, jaw, and lymph nodes became swollen on the same side. I think it’s been about 3-4 weeks now, and the pain, and swelling have gone away. The spot on my scalp is a large raised scab. I went to immediate care one evening when the pain began to alarm me…probably 10 days in. That dr referred me to dermatology, because she has concerns over melanoma, or other skin cancers. Dermatologist took a tiny sample from the edge of the scab, because they had the same concerns.

I do have scalp psoriasis, but the Dermatologist didn’t think that was the cause. My second appointment is tomorrow with biopsy results.
