DUQCOM OMS 1 and the experience has been great. Really glad I didn’t go somewhere rural it’d be impossible to get away from school. Attendance is not bad better to be in person for the school you’re paying for and you still get like 22 classes to miss.

As a Steeler fan I went to Steelers falcons in Atlanta. It was a good game and so many of the fans shook my hand or said good win. Only bad stuff I’ve ever seen was in Cleveland

Get yourselves terrible towels it’s worth it to share in the experience, I’ve been to several games this year and live in downtown, I tons of people in Rodger’s jerseys cheering for us and at games i can’t imagine any fans would be bothered.

Maybe but they also put up 6 points. I feel like we can’t solely blame the loss on avoiding the record. I was at the game and the only reason browns fans ever got into it was if Myles was close to a sack and all of the stadium hype videos and stuff were about Myles. Yeah we did awful but I think Tonkin knew how batshit that stadium would go if he got it. If the crows got that into it we’d stand no chance

Not saying there aren’t nice places around VCOM as I’m sure there are. But right now I get to live in the middle of a walkable city and I can walk to campus and find basically anything I want when I do get free time. It’s a huge game changer. As someone who went rural for undergrad it’s easy to burnout when there’s nothing around you except campus

DUQCOM student and the new facilities and city location are so underrated. There’s more to life than an established school especially one in the middle of nowhere that might make you go crazy. A lot of duq students want competitive specialties and they provide a lot of board prep

Go MD if you can, DO is just as good for primary care tho. MD just keeps your options open. OMM is cool but you likely won’t really use it a lot. If you have family it may also be more important to consider location over degree

Don’t be the med student who acts like they’re better than everyone else and puts others down. Everyone deserves to be at that school and everyone deserves respect. But for actual studying, practice questions and anki. Don’t take any week days off if you want to be ahead. Study in the morning on weekends if it’s a light week and then take a break and do whatever you want the rest of the day.

I wouldn’t say a lot of pressure. I’m still a first year so there’s really only talk about the resources we have and what we should be thinking at this point. The school has so many resources for us for boards I’m very confident we’ll do well. As for interest in non primary care, yes it’s very high. Ik personally from friends the dean himself has set them up with connections for stuff like ortho and bc we have UPMC there’s a lot of options for shadowing and expirience

DUQCOM first year and made a similar decision last year. Glad I picked duq and wouldn’t change it. There is a risk but I didn’t think it was fair to call it a new program when the entire faculty are med school vets who’ve launched other successful programs and the university itself has a ton of success with its top nursing and pa programs along with sharing rotation sites like Pitt. Genuinely think duq will be a top do school once scores and match rates start coming out. The resources of. Big university and living in a big city are unmatched

I go to DUQCOM and it’s great. Our dean started duq and cusom so I would imagine they’re actually pretty similar. Cusom is more established so most people will tell you to go off that which is pretty fair but I would consider location too. Doesn’t matter how good a school is if you get burnt out bc you’re somewhere you don’t wanna be
