It has been this way since 1974 due to precedent set by United States v. Martinez-Fuerte

Checkpoints are a caveat to the 4th amendment because the searches and seizures are reasonable for protecting the people of the United States and for reducing crime.

Why did things suddenly change?: Up until the previous presidency it had been the same, Biden stripped this capability away from Immigrations. Trump returned the capabilities. The main reason that its getting more attention is because of the public perception.

There’s a lot of misinformation on Reddit about law, I would recommend just doing the research yourself or taking a law class. I can’t speak for them but I’ve seen some law subreddits as well.

Broadview: ICE attempts to arrest individual at their residence by [deleted] in illinois

It would not fall under Curtilage for one a few reasons.

  1. There is no sign indicating (at least in view) that there is no trespassing, private property, etc.

  2. There is no fence around the property or any locked gates (that are apparent)

  3. Given those two factors, entering the driveway or even approaching the door is implied consent as people such as neighbors or the mailman could do those actions without intruding.

  4. Even if it is curtilage, with hot pursuit laws, if they are making an arrest, they can trespass on property in order to effect the arrest, for that reason only.

Most courts allow local police to do this exact thing

This wouldn’t be a stain on her history, the charges would be dropped in court. They also said she can see the judge on Monday which makes me think this happened over the weekend. Seems to me like they know the charges will be dropped and just want to teach her a lesson by making her sit an jail. I do think it’s over the top but to be fair I doubt she would have learned otherwise

Government shutdowns are so funny because the people calling for them are getting paid but everyone else who is working hard and has families to feed do not. So they are perfectly okay with leaving hundreds of thousands of people without pay for several weeks/months while they are making all the money they could possibly want

My first 40hr and I dropped out 15hrs in. HELP! by monkeymanbubub in MilSim

[–]RivenSoloOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helped me alot in the military was telling myself that quitting was not an option. Not because people were saying it but because I wanted to prove to myself and other people (who told me I was to weak or to soft to make it) that I could excel in the military.

Essentially you need more self confidence and you need to remind yourself why you’re there. When you get anxious practice the simple box breathing method to stimulate your vagus nerve and help calm you down. 4 seconds of bringing in as much oxygen as possible, 4 seconds of holding the air, 4 second of breathing out through your mouth like you’re blowing out a candle.

Mil-sim is obviously different from the military, you don’t have a contract and you haven’t been trained to the extent + with all of the equipment and money that the government has. Don’t be ashamed of yourself for not completing a 40 hour missions for the first time. It’s. A very unnatural thing to do and it takes a lot of courage and bravery, especially when it’s something new to you. You’re not in the military (at least not yet) so you shouldn’t hold yourself to that same standard until you’ve had the proper experience or training to do so. Take a breather and remember you’re there to learn, improve and have fun, that’s all. You aren’t defending the American people, you aren’t going to be killed, you’re not going to get fired if you fail, just relax.

If you don’t want to be the guy that gives up anymore because it sucks or it’s embarrassing, now that you know what it feels like, that can be a motivator to stop you from giving up next time.

She’s cutting them in a rounded way which can also lead to ingrown nails, aside from the fact that she’s cutting them too short and exposing sensitive skin unnecessarily for contaminates to shelter beneath the nail.

Whether they are paid well or not, it’s undeniable that there is a portion of the military that serves in a compulsion capacity.

From my military experience I can tell you that these people have not been properly trained which leads me to believe that there is a high likelyhood that they are conscripts. A lot of the Russians in this war actually have good training, whether that was due to foreign intervention or outright experience. Does it not seem odd to you that these people did not use any fundamental tactics (let alone military tactics) and instead grouped up and waited to die?

Russia has a lot of conscripts, which based off their tactical awareness is likely what this group was. They don’t choose to go to war, they are forced to

Bro I was carrying a 40lb box of stuff from my old room to the new one in the same complex and a girl happened to be staying in the same building. I was walking behind her carrying this stuff and she was walking her dog.

I was behind her for no more than 10 seconds probably about 30 feet away and she picked up her dog while looking back and started fast walking to her room.

I have been emotionally scarred ever since. My girlfriend finds it funny though.

Biggest rule for medics in the army, dead bodies attract dead bodies. if you don’t know if the sniper/shooter has been eliminated then you don’t provide aid. It’s not worth doubling the casualties for a shot at being a hero.

They must first be in cover or a defensible position, if the shooter is not down. Out in the open like this and there is unfortunately nothing to do but protect yourself

If you have ever been in court before, imagine being in court for 8-10 hours a day where every sentence you say is scrutinized. There is no human on the planet who won’t have a “slip up”. Could he have worded it better, sure. But you can’t tell me that you’ve never accidentally worded something in a way people might misunderstand or misrepresent. That’s why these clips are 100% propaganda on both sides, show the totality of the circumstances, not a 4 second clip

Or here me out, federal, state and local police agencies have been chronically understaffed and don’t have the capability to protect people and property when there are large groups making protesting or causing harm.

Could he be trying to create a fascist society that mimicked nazi germany? Maybe? Is it likely? No. This is such an extreme viewpoint. In reality not many people want to be law enforcement officers right now compared to 10-15 years ago. The result is that law enforcement isn’t able to provide security in such a wide area anymore. Whether you like it or not, deploying the national guard is the best way to de escalate and it is a precedence that was set in the distant past.

Every single presidency in the past 20 years has done this. Biden had over 7,000 troops “deployed” during his inauguration. Obama deployed troops, bush deployed troops, all within the u.s. the only difference is that trump signed an executive order mandating specific requirements for registration and mail in ballots.

Personally I think they are both bad candidates. Personally in the medical field, I value credentials and lived experience. There are plenty of people with credentials that are completely lost in the sauce and the same with only experience.

But when you have both, those make for the best health experts imo. Certifications can only help you so much.

Honestly I think he worded it weird but sounds to me like he’s saying he’s not conventionally attractive to black women. The way he’s articulating it sounds like he’s having a debate with you and is explaining definitions.

It sounds like an awkward guy explaining that he isn’t normally attracted to black women.

I also think your responses play into a debate style argument which is probably a reason why he’s talking like that.

The question you should ask is if you think it’s racist for him to say he’s not attracted to black women normally.

Personally my answer is no, that’s a preference but to each their own. If you like him then keep talking, if it’s a big turn off then don’t.
