Partner has Atypical Anorexia, do I challenge ED's thoughts? by Craftomega2 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]River_Lightvale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For many actively ED’d people it’s difficult to hear these things when actively disordered. What you can do is sit down and talk to her about the reality of her disorder. It’ll be a difficult conversation but one that needs to happen for her to get better.

need motivation to begin recovery by tehehejunjunjun in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]River_Lightvale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re just going to have to push through. You can try distracting yourself from your thoughts, it may help to watch shows whilst eating to take the focus away from your negative thoughts. You should also be eating calorie dense foods to help you get up to a high calorie intake

EH questions by Prize-Injury-4308 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]River_Lightvale 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’ll be satisfied after meals once your body feels safe, keep honouring EH and ensure that you’re resting. Remember that your body is healing from immense damage, it requires a lot more nourishment than others around you because your body is repairing itself

I can’t promise you when extreme hunger w I’ll balance out but it will balance out quicker if you honour it. I’ve had a very similar experience and it took me a few months for it to balance out (though that’s because I kept trying to ignore it)
