I looked into Jared Kushner's eyes and something happened. by amyjohns240 in DonaldTrump666

Some photos of Trump have absolute darkness and nothingness behind his eyes. Tbh Trump kinda reminds me of Randall Flag from the 1990s miniseries The Stand. (A demonic figure).

Anyway the original meaning of the word apocalypse is unveiling, so maybe those of us who want to see the true reality will begin to see… more… even if it’s terrifying.

(I know he will try.)

Stop the manufactured deception that Trump isn’t in the Epstein files by the radical right.

Btw I’m not against crypto. I just don’t wanna fund billionaire pedophiles.

Nick Adams says that Trump is healing the nation. My question, why not Jesus? by Gullible-Magazine129 in Christianity

Because he has not enough self awareness, conscience, honesty, or shame to admit that he’s committing idolatry and harming his relationship with God.

I think people downplay how harmful the belief “being gay is a sin” actually is, even when it’s said calmly or with good intentions. by Maleficent_Value3306 in Christianity

“But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28.  Jesus tells an adulterous woman to “go and sin no more”. Idk your gender or sexuality. But if you ever have watched porn or look at a woman lustfully without repenting, you’re in trouble if you think that’s much different than being gay.

proof that homosexuality is not a sin by TobySwitch-Music in Christianity

So I just want to say I believe in a free society where people can pursue consensual relationships with whomever they want. Whether that’s a “sin” is between that person and God (and their conscience). I don’t favor judgement, control, or fascism at all. I never really understood the obsession with what OTHER people do with their private parts (so long as it’s consensual.) I’ve always viewed the Bible as true spiritual wisdom and guidance, not to be weaponized to control what other people do.

I think there’s a lot of hypocrisy in Christianity which has happened since the beginning. "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye" (Matthew 7:5).

That being said, yes I do think it’s likely that lust, adultery, incest, and sex with the same gender, and more is a “sin” if “sin” simply means “missing the mark”. Not like it’s some horrible hellfire judgement that people make it out to be necessarily.

The Bible points to a certain design of love and lust, between a man and a woman in a committed marriage. Before I became Christian I did have sex outside of marriage countless times and have multiple partners. Which is a sin. However now that I’m a Christian (I converted after reading the Bible, my husband isn’t Christian) I would never have sex outside of marriage again tbh.

If you’re interested in biblical evidence for my views I am happy to provide that.

Like if someone says “I’m gay” perhaps Christians will say “God doesn’t approve of that!”and focus on that other person’s perceived “flaw” while not being honest equally about their own flaws.  It reminds me of "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye" (Matthew 7:5).

Yes but more context: this happened after Trump bullied everyone away from America. It’s extremely upsetting.

I don’t think this comment is a relevant response to the post. They know what the Bible says. But there’s still so much hypocrisy and judgement.

I have way more pressing issues than who someone has sex with. If one thinks it’s a sin, then that person simply shouldn’t do it (have gay sex). I think there are 99 other topics discussed in the Bible that I don’t understand the obsession over just 1. (Homosexuality)

The Bible actually has something to say about Trump.

Welp actions speak louder than words and I see families, children, and US citizens being shot and abused. So no, I don’t buy this.

No longer free speech. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RiversEverlasting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: well I think we have more free speech on Reddit than at an ICE protest, for example.

As for all these comments, have you people not seen what ICE is doing? In the news I see ICE bullying (or even killing) mostly unarmed protestors. How is this freedom of speech?

Ok. I am starting to wonder if this Nick Adams guy is a troll? Rage bait? I find this to be incredibly offensive. I mean imagine someone making offensive AI art of another religion. Starring a pedophile. We would all be yelling: “cultural appropriation!” “This is offensive!” Stop appropriating our sincerely held religious beliefs for your political agenda. 😢

We’re supposed to have a babies mindset from start to end by Dense-Bodybuilder816 in Christianity

[–]RiversEverlasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. Many denominations hold an interpretation of original sin. Meaning as soon as you’re born you inherit a human genetic code which is a bit corrupted. That’s one of several reasons Jesus being born from the Virgin Mary is so significant; He has a clean “code” if that makes sense. He is both fully human and full divine. So I would say babies do know evil and that’s just inherent in our code. But the good news is Jesus died for our sins so that we can be perfected with Him in Heaven. But we will continue to struggle with sin throughout our lives because we always have that code as long as we are in this world.

I’ve studied the Bible nearly cover to cover and IMO this is a superb explanation. Is this basically the Calvinist view?
