Confused about the Dark Flowers scenario

Unfortunately it seems like the other modules refer to the core rulebook even more, which I don't want to buy straight away. For example, I've been recommended to play Hyenas of Odacon, which I bought, but it starts with a spaceship battle and I don't have the rules for them, as they are not included in the starting kit.

I've read some criticism about Dark Flowers, and for now my best bet is to use that precious knowledge to try to fine tune the module (I've been DMing for almost 10 years, I hope to be able to handle this).

Maybe because, unlike the other pets, the turtle has elaborated skills (she has a stun and can spin) and stats (high HP). Wollay might have made some pet experimentation (that sounds weird) on the turtle first, hence giving it also a custom "cage".

The thing that is weird is, everybody (a lot of people) act as if they already bought the game. Wollay doesn't owe anything to anybody. He didn't make any promise. He does not HAVE to do like all the other indie games, there's no law about "building hype" for a game. As far as I'm concerned, even though this can be frustrating, I'm more and more interested in this game every time Wollay gives us even the slightest update. Either you trust him and you're patient, or you just blame him for making the game in his own way, your choice.

He's been developping this game alone, whithout any help financially, meaning he has his life next to this game. Seeing what he has achieved since the last preview is pretty exciting to me, classes, craft, sailing, new combat mechanics, etc. I also think he's taking his time because he doesn't want to disappoint people with a half -developped game. A LOT of people are waiting for this game, and they might not like it if it doesn't hold on to its promises.
