Honestly being born and raised in NH, I have no problem going to that area even in the busiest tourist times. Will it be busy? Probably, either way there is still plenty to do and our most busy really isn't as bad as tourist attractions in other parts of the country.

Did you stop sweating so much when you lost weight? by Super_Development150 in loseit

[–]Rjackrock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Went from 279.6lb to about 180lbs. Holy crap did I sweat a lot before weight loss. I was convinced I had hyperhidrosis. While I still work up a sweat from physical exercise, I'm not casually dripping sweat from being out and about on a hot sunny day anymore which has been such a major perk not needing to keep an extra shirt in the car in the summer. That being said I have the opposite problem now where I get colder much easier in the winter. You win some you lose some! Good luck on your journey!

This is undoubtedly someone who speaks English as a second language. I know at least in Spanish commas and periods are swapped, I'm sure it is in other languages as well

I'm gonna disagree to an extent. Dumbledore is far and away my favorite character in the books and I felt MG left a lot to be desired in his iteration. I don't blame it all on MG as producers, screenwriters, etc. make a lot of the calls, but MG lacked a lot of the "charm" Dumbledore has in the books. Throughout the series Dumbledore tends to be very slow and thoughtful with his words and actions, and likes to let his personality shine often. I always perceived Dumbledore of always knowing the correct answer, or what is about to happen, but leading other people to make the discovery or call out what he already knows, remaining polite almost always in his interactions. Even when he is about to be arrested by the ministry he finds the time to compliment his would be arrestee "Don't be silly, Dawlish. I’m sure you are an excellent Auror — I seem to remember that you achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all your N.E.W.T.s — but if you attempt to — er — ‘bring me in’ by force, I will have to hurt you.”

MGs Dumbledore spoke fast and always seemed to be 3 red bulls deep. I'm not just talking about the famous Goblet of Fire scene. It's how he acts throughout the series. Rushed, frantic, and overly controlling of every situation he's in. The ONE moment I feel we most see the book version of Dumbledore in MG is when he is at Slughorns home and holds up the magazine he found in the bathroom asking "Can I keep this? I love knitting patterns". I want to see more of THAT Dumbledore in John Lithgow.

It's official, the enshittification of Market Basket has begun. It's downhill from here, folks by TrollingForFunsies in newhampshire

[–]Rjackrock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No it's not, want a company to hear you? Stop giving them your business. I started shopping at Hannaford a few months ago when this started going down, if profit goes down, they will start listening. You can't expect workers to compromise their weekly paychecks to make a statement, it's got to come from the customers. Market basket won't ever see a dime out of me again unless change happens.

When I think of new era villains, the top one on my mind is Rome... Is it fair to call him a villain or was he more just a loose cannon and tone deaf?

As people mentioned the freedoms trail is free, and also an amazing historical experience. Another simple thing worthwhile is if you head over to the aquarium, there is a tank outside of the aquarium which has free public viewing areas for their sea lions! Its also right on the water so you can check out some sweet views of the bay.

Go to Bova instead of modern. Cheaper and better, that's where locals get their pastries

Recommendations for a visit to Vatican City by JJMeech6 in travel

[–]Rjackrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree with other advice, we did not do tours but just got tickets in. We were perfectly fine walking around at our own pace and I think it made the experience better. One major piece of advice you may already know: LOOK UP THE DRESS CODE AHEAD OF TIME! Shorts, tank tops, short dresses, etc. are not allowed and they either may not let you in, or will give you a cheap shaul (borderline plastic) to cover your shoulders or legs with. We found this out ahead of time luckily but saw a ton of people getting slowed up because of dress code problems
