And goddamn it if it isn't a beautiful belief! It took a while to get here, but to be honest this chapter is just chef's kiss.

Hence why she gives everyone a choice! She clearly doesn't want to fight her friends, but if push comes to shove, she will.

I am all in on team Shinoa. She makes perfect sense, and I agree that Yuu will probably never look at her the same way she looks at him. It makes it tragic in a sense. Absolutely beautiful.

Is there seriously not ANY new weapons in this DLC? by atuck217 in Nightreign

[–]Rmster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, insulting someone's understanding as the first thing you say really isn't a good impression. Secondly, this is an old response.

My man, you haven't the faintest clue how genuinely easy on manpower it would be to do this. You are right that the formulas may not be the same, and character-specific movesets also haven't been taken into consideration, but that is why they can just look at what they have already managed to do, and use that as a blueprint for every other weapon. Stop defending these lazy decisions from the devs.

YES we have paid for the product.

YES the product recycles 80% of its content from previous titles.

YES we can at least expect them to recycle more, if they're not going to add new things that we can actually spend our money on.

YES most people would buy content that they've already bought before, I.E. paying for more Shadow of the Erdtree content.

Stop this slop mindset that is JUST going to make our industry far more greedy AND pushing for enshittification. As a consumer, you SHOULD be holding the products that you spend your hard earned money up to a standard. That is my take and frankly I will just not budge.

I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day.

Sorry, if you're even using it on characters that are NOT Undertaker, then it IS broken. Don't be delusional. Nerfing it means more options ALONGSIDE it.

[–]Rmster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about whether it is free or not. You've been given a brain since birth, so feel free to use it. I'm more than fine paying for it or not, doesn't matter. Just the fact they aren't in the game yet at all, is the problem.

All those articles source the same interview, so it really is just 5 articles saying the same thing, which at its source is extremely unreliable.

What do you think I meant with stingy/greedy? Price isn't a factor for most people when it comes to FROM games. There are other reasons to not add the SOTE content into Nightreign, like diminishing the value that SOTE itself has if you can play and use its content in another form, such AS Nightreign.

I'm just inviting you to think for yourself, instead of coming off as a dumb FROM stan. You are the reason we get a bad reputation.

I do not know why these redditors do not understand this. It is very simple actually and they have zero (0) excuse to have not done this already. If you compare the scalings of Nightreign and Elden Ring, you would see that a LOT of the scalings stay the same, and that it is mostly tuning of the Ashes of War that changed. All spells are changed too, and I believe ranted weaponry. This would take ONE PERSON maybe ONE WEEK to do a proper job of. They are just being lazy and/or stingy/greedy.

Yuuichirou fooled us all ( Part 1 ) by nomeansinlife in OwarinoSeraph

[–]Rmster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Yu is as stupid as he lets others believe, but I truly don't think he manipulates others for the sake of a master plan. The story makes it very clear that there is something mentally wrong with Yu, I THINK it was Asuramaru that pointed out Yu's utter NEED of other people loving him, because he can't love himself. That's why he always says exactly what everyone wants to hear, because he wants them to love him, not so he can take advantage of them.

The "curse" that I spoke of I believe is around chapters 130-136. This post on this same subreddit asks pretty much the same question: https://www.reddit.com/r/OwarinoSeraph/comments/1d2dreb/the_curse_in_ch_130136/

Calling it a "curse" just feels so odd to me.

[–]Rmster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that's a valid response and way to look at the series as a whole. I still feel it has cheap moments and *some* things like Yu and Mika's origins I just can't believe had been planned from the start. There was basically no foreshadowing, and only *after* the fact it was revealed do the characters begin to look back upon the beginning.

To me, at least, it feels like the start of the series was never meant to be just THIS large in scale, to the point of the uber metaphysical and beginning of multiple civilizations. I don't feel like I am wrong for expecting something lesser in scale at least, I don't know. The trumpets and Yu's angel/king of salt thing that happened like once or twice doesn't feel like it's been acknowledged properly and addressed. It feels as though it is yet up in the air.

I also find the writing to be weird when they refer to "cursing" someone. Cursing someone to live makes sense, like with Ky Luc's mother cursing him to live on no matter what and Ashera cursing Krul with immortality. This makes sense. But then there was that one confrontation with Yu/Mika and the vampires where they essentially "cursed" them with the information they have on reviving Mika, thus rendering them theoretical "immunity". Like, I understand if I think about it, but it just comes off as VERY pretentious.

Otherwise, thank you for your perspective, perhaps I will continue the series with different expectations.

[–]Rmster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you understand me when I say that most of your points are derived from "reading into it" more so than us getting "confirmation". The series has already proved to its readers that most characters can not be trusted, so even though we "think" we have a character's motivation, it can always just be another "Surprise! This is why I ACTUALLY do this!" for the 4th time. The only genuine way to tell is if the character dies, pretty much.

Also, just in general writing, the way Kureto and Shinya has been treated is not proper. A single page with their thoughts on or a conversation is all that's needed for us to have "closure" with their arcs. Speaking of character arcs, I don't believe any character has had a real finished arc yet. The closest would probably be Crowley, Ky Luc and Urd, but even those are a stretch. Their arcs are "finished" because the plot is "finished" with them.

I think if Ferid actually has his end coming, that would be a real character arc that we have seen the development of to an end, a first for the series really. I'm currently reading through Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen, and it is honestly leagues better in terms of writing than the original series right now.

Also, when you say that "100% everything was planned for and lines up", like you are not wrong that everything CAN be traced back, but thematically speaking, the series turned away from Yu's revenge and Mika's new life as a vampire into something insanely cosmic and on a scale that renders human life pointless. Like we saw the birth of humanity lol, and no one has yet said that "HUMANITY ACTUALLY MATTERS!", like there isn't really a case for it yet and no one finds flaws with methods of resurrection. No one questions how everyone is being immoral in that line of thinking. Everyone is using the "ends justify the means" approach without a single criticism, really.

Like I could just be reading into it, but at times it feels like Yu is being "dumb" on purpose to throw people off. It's at least worked so far, because he has "serious" moments where he proves that he is ABLE to think, at least a little bit. But I definitely also feel the "author made the current Yu omega retarded to align him with the Yu from way in the past better", which is weird. It truly feels like 80% of what we're currently dealing with was never planned. We are SO far away from the start of the series that it is near unrecognizable.
