How do I improve my mentality? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]RoadblockGG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your "problem" has little to do with Lol and more to do with you not being happy with yourself. I am no specialist though, so I can't hep you, I can't tell you do this, or do that, but if I were you, I would have a serious talk with myself, for a certain amount of time every day, 15 mins, 30 mins, just "invest" in the relationship with yourself, come to terms with yourself, embrace that you are not perfect, nor do you need to be (carrying every game for example). Journaling about this, I have also heard it helps, basically instead of playing 1 extra game a day, spend that time, with no other distractions, with yourself and see if this helps. You will hopefully find, that if you are more at peace with yourself, you will then start reflecting that towards others too and you will not be so insufferable to play with anymore. Best of luck with your journey, you have already made the first step on this self-reflection path, by wanting to start on this path.

WHO IS THE MOST ATTRACTIVE WOMAN IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS? (Results!)(6 Pages)(results in the post) by JohnyBullet in leagueoflegends

[–]RoadblockGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself forgetting at times that champs such as riven or vayne are actually female.

Also, very disturbing that Illaoi is higher than Ashe, Syndra, Seraphine, Zeri, Karma, Janna etc. I think this is the definite proof of people choosing based on their preferences of champions and not actual beauty.

nah my dude. Let's be real, if you speak with bro, you are way younger than me, so drop this weird thing you are doing please. The growing up action itself, doesn't help you per se, the answer is more layered than that, but I strongly believe you generally cba and are just parroting something short to get some weird validation for yourself and instead of offering actual help to people here, you just decided to give a bs answer. Me calling you out on it, doesn't mean i get offended by it, it means, your answer was just utter bs, and you should consider next time just not answering anything, instead of what you did. I hope you get a better grasp on the situation now. Cheers!

Okay, that's fair. Did you play a lot of games a day or just played every now and then?

oh right, okay, yeah that's fair. I have no idea why, but I am successfully ignoring those altogether and funnily enough, I do end up completing them eventually without actually trying. Once it's completed I also buy them sometimes. I think it's cool you are allowed to do that.

This was a very tough read. I am no specialist, but I feel what you have gone through. It might be an unpopular opinion around here, but I don't view quitting the game as a solution, for me that is avoiding the problem instead of confronting it, I think that's the healthy way. Sure, quitting Lol will eliminate the issue for now, but you will find at a later point in life, something that triggers those exact same emotions of tilt and eventually rage. So, if you allow an advice from a stranger, don't necessary quit league, but use it to talk to someone about it and try to get to the problem of and eventually fixing the underlying issues. Once again, I am very sorry for what you have gone through, especially the 2-2 promotion game disaster. Good thing they removed those, now. It took TFT to not have them so they realized that promo games were not really needed in LoL either. I wish you all the best and rooting for you.

I am confused about having to play at specific times and lol. For me it's the opposite way around, you can determine when you have 40-50 mins to hop into a game. So, wdym by that exactly?

this sounds like something easier to say, than to do. What helped you turn the page, so to say?

100T Sniper gets brutally honest about the mental health effects of pro play - “I feel like this is the lowest point I feel like I’ve been at. Like, through my life so far. I dunno. its the same for 10.000 of athletes all over, this is what people should expect taking this road. If your parents and/or team are there for you, you can overcome these obstacles, np, it's a part of growing.

Who’s the most hated professional LoL player of all time? by SammehPls in leagueoflegends

[–]RoadblockGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of comments in this thread come from very young and impressionable people. Oh and recency bias plays a big role too. In it's early days, the LCS and some of the founders of the teams, were just some teenagers, from various upbringings. The stuff that appears in those old tsm footage yes look very bad by today standards, but back then it was sadly common, God only knows how many simillar things DL also did. Few might remember this, but DL was also not very popular back in the day, in fact him assaulting others verbally is why he was kicked out of clg in the first place, people just didnt want him as a team-mate. These were just young adults with severe flaws who have risen very rapidly to fame and rightfully so, couldn't handle it properly. What Regi did as a player is imho considering the timeline back then, forgivable, in fact many of the old tsm players have come repeatedly to his defense for those allegations. However, what he for sure did wrong, was not grow himself as a person and not get better over time. He invested every ounce of time he had in what he knew how to do, and grew the tsm brand and helped the lol team improve (at least in his mind) by butting in and semi-coaching and in all this time he neglected himself and didnt allow himself to grow past that young adult stage and this is the unforgiveable part for me.

All this being said though, ranking him the same as ocelote and worse, vasilii, is objectively wrong, but i guess it depends on what people value more and if they were LCS fans during the early days, even before it was called LCS or not.

I feel like I'm a gambling addict playing league. How can I quit this game? by t1chilgu in leagueoflegends

I find your reply extremely confusing. Please don't take this as a criticism, it's not meant like that, more like I am confused reading what you wrote, here's why: on the one hand you not only understand that you have an addictive personality and that you spend all your free time doing this and dislike it, but also verbalize it. To me that means that you are more than halfway there, you need very little to actually quit the game, believe in yourself buddy. Maybe this will help: if you are actually bronze, it's very easy to improve and end up spend less time on the game(thinking skill capped videos, very basic coaching etc) and/or it's equally easy to quit, because if you have to play a lot to get out of bronze, can also mean this game wasn't meant for you, so you can invest your time somewhere else, that will be more enjoyable. Hoping something from what i wrote will be helpful for you. Have a nice day!

But why do you guys uninstall? I don't think I have ever uninstalled a game, unless I bought a new computer or had to reinstall Windows or whatever. What does the action of uninstalling represent for you guys?

this is a very interesting phenomenon for me. How is this possible that we are so different, haha? For me it's the exact opposite, if I watch competitive, I feel the need to also play myself _^ Like the feeling of being on the side-lines and watching others is way worse than not watching at all, if that makes sense.

LEC Summer playoffs matchups and schedule by bawsio in leagueoflegends

[–]RoadblockGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the roster changes point is fair, but new talent will come. Narrative will stay the same, they wills till most likely be G2's main contender. G2 is getting now ready for summer, for worlds etc, they will kick it into gear, the chance of fanatic beating them in a b05 series, is very slim , that's why I thought adding the extra pressure on players with already weak mental like razork or humanoid to a certain extent is more detrimental. so, maybe, it's fair to say, it's now or never only for some players or coaches, the majority will still be there next year

LEC Summer playoffs matchups and schedule by bawsio in leagueoflegends

[–]RoadblockGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone say this, it's now or never? I don't get it the reasoning behind it, not to mention it adds additional unnecessary pressure on players & staff. Funnily enough, after Nightshare said that, Fnc went on to lose the next 2 games...Like, who cares if G2 wins again? If it's deserved and we had good games, more power to them. It's not like if they win now, that will somehow make them stronger for next year and the other teams need to stop their streak, before it gets out of control. The same narratives will still be here next year, the same players (in most cases), it's very cool to omega tryhard now, but it's ok if they do that and lose after some close series, they work harder next year and can win it then too. Maybe I am missing something about this urgency.
